Exactly. The BB concept is a GREAT one for sellers when there's 1500 or so names as was the original BB concept stated by the founder (and I know "as companies evolve etc etc"). With 20,000 it's an entirely different story-for sellers not for BrandBucket.

I think its interesting that they have changed their business model so much. As evidenced by a prior post I made where they claimed the market place worked best when it was only a few hundred names and small enough for one person to review the entire catalog in one evening. What changed? Was it a calculated decision based on analytics or did it just grow organically. Again, before the little girls get all upset about me posting my opinion without facts, this was based in facts that I have previously posted that came right out of the mouth of the founder. I don't claim its good or bad, i just wonder what led them to change, if it was indeed a conscious decision.

Listing fees happened.

So you are saying that they decided earning $10 per name was a better long term revenue stream than selling brand names from a smaller portfolio? That doesn't paint a very good picture for the future if it's true.

I'm saying that want both and who can blame them!

When names are published, do we receive statistics on traffic? (ie - visits, clicks, etc?)

Unfortunately, no. I think that would be a great feature, however..

I'm sure this has been mentioned before but they need to sort the logos out. I chose the $200 logo and it's frankly diabolical. Just a font not a logo. I could have done it in 30 seconds on MS paint. I only every submitted this one name to see what they are like and it's deterring me from using them more.

That's exactly why I don't (any longer) put more than $100 for a logo. As Ive mentioned before we have a name published there-on BB- that what won a contest and a 2 year old could have done the logo and they wouldn't change it or edit it to state that the name won a worldwide contest.

I dont have any names submitted yet but for me this is a problem. I have names parked at various places, I can see how they're doing by viewing the stats. You mean to tell me that in addition to other items I've read here like lack of even generic sales data, we cant see traffic statistics in our own accounts? How do we know if anyone is even visiting the name(s), where they are visiting from, etc?

Yeah I was wondering how much of a difference there could possibly be between the 100 and 500 dollar logo when you consider what you get from some of the great logo designers on NP for much less. It's robbery that they charge 200 dollars for something that @NameFu could do better with his eyes closed and hands tied behind his back for 60 bucks.

Some people get around it by having the domain go to their server and then redirecting it to BB, but that's a pain for something that normally comes standard in the industry (at least from parking sites)....

OK, thats an idea.. I gotta know the stats. Otherwise, whats the point? I could drop fliers in the coffee shop at the mall and never know who sees them. Thanks. :)

Is everyone's new posting put to the first page or are those hand selected?

How long does the typical listing stay on the first few pages?

I didn't want to go back to this, but I just noticed that the site is set to automatically show staff picks at the top. IMO the sort option should stand out way more in the menu, maybe even add a "Newest" option where the keywords are shown under the search bar.

If we receive a substantial offer on a name, we will reach out to the seller, let you know the offer, and give you our suggestion moving forward. We do our best to keep negotiations to a minimum.

On August 10 they broke 18,000 so once again they are dead on track to hit 19,000 tomorrow which is the 1,000 every 10 days that I have been saying all along. It has been very consistent the last few months. The $30,000 a month business model is working well for them. The killer is going to be when sellers start pulling out their portfolios and the logo designers don't get paid anything. It's going to be hard to keep the designers around if this occurs because no one wants to work for free. It is possible that they were shooting for at total of 20,000 domains since they started adding all of these names and now they are becoming more picky with what goes on the site. It seems like the percentage of what gets accepted is starting to look very similar to the way it was in 2013 where maybe 2 out of every 10 were accepted. Will be very interesting to see how the next 45 days plays out.

LOL...Thanks for the superhero like compliment! To be honest, I think most of the logos at BB are pretty mediocre. Are they really charging $200 for logos like below?

P.S: My design fee of 69 bucks and my participation in contests on NP are *mainly* for exposure and to make meaningful friendships with fellow domainers and entrepreneurs. Outside of this forum and with high profile projects I would normally charge between $150 to $500 per logo, depending on the nature of the project.

Those logos are better than the one I was given lol. Check out Jilty dot com for a 200 dollar logo.

Don't forget that they get paid only if the domain sells tho. Which makes their low quality in general understandable imo. There are some logos tho that I just have no idea how they got there..
