Hey Michael (if you're still checking this thread), any plans on updating us with some recents sales?
The last time he listed sales was June 1st so he's probably waiting until July 1st to give one month's worth of sales. Based on my tracking it looks to be around 17 sold names since June 1st with 1918 names listed at BB. Some of these may have been from his MediaPlow site so we will have to wait for him to put up the official list. Last time he posted 5 weeks worth of sales so he should be posting it in around a week or so.

BrandBucket said they take .me domain names. I submitted Cloudi.me and I told them that Cloudi.com is for sale for 130K and that Cloud.me had sold for $22K which it did in 2010. They rejected my domain along with 5 others like it.

For .me names the .me should be part of the phrase. Like Coax.me or BabySit.me. Cloud.me makes sense, but Cloudi.me just doesn't quite make the grade. I'm not saying it won't sell, but it is something that fits in our marketplace.

According to you, which letter between a C and a K is better for brandable invented word.
The letter is located in the middle xxCxx or xxKxx.

For radio test, a "C" is better, but a "K" kind of add a uniqueness to it. Similar to Nokia.

Ideally, from a business perspective you would want both spellings. If you can only have one then it depends on other factors.

When "c" is followed by e, i, y it is sounded as "s" which is called a soft "c"

ce, ci, cy is pronounced as "s"
ca, co, cu is pronounced as "k"

Without knowing the prefix and suffix I can't say which would be better. From a registration standpoint "c' is chosen more often then "k" when registering 5 letter domains.

In my case it is a CVCCV so a "C" or "K" are pronounced "K". I bought the "C".

I gave BrandBucket PleaseText.me and PleaseOpen.me and they turned it down. So much for the "Phrase" lol

They probably would've considered them without the "please".

I'm not sure it gets better than PleaseText.me for a "phrase"I ran that by 2 developers before submitting it to BrandBucket and as I said BB rejected it. But thank you for your comments.

NO company is going to brand themselves with a passive call to action. I'm sorry, but PLEASE believe me.

Doron-do you have an opinion on the .ly names and prices on BrandBucket?

I'm not a fan. The prices of most of the .ly domains on BB seem to be out of touch with reality imo. I do a weekly write-up on newly funded startups at my blog and there's hardly any companies these days that choose a .ly domain name anymore so to me it seems BB is way too late with listing these .ly names. Listing ultra premium .co or .io domains would make more sense imo.

Thanks Doron I agree re .ly on BrandBucket the prices for some reason are ridiculous. As to .io I just gave them CLOUDi.io Let's see if they take it and at what price-this one-in a great tech extension- Im not selling cheap.

It's meant for a blog leading to an app-not a company name. BB said they have many app developers as clients and bloggers. Of course its not a company name.

BrandBucket rejected a name two weeks ago that a well known broker just took for $100,000 for us. My point is you never know with BB or domains in general.

We should not complain or discuss about what they accept and refuse.

They are looking for specific domain names for the benefit of their business and they are the only judges of what is good for them. It could be the best domain name on the planet, if it does not fit what they look for, they won't accept it.

All marketplaces do not focus on the same kind of domains and BB has its own flavor.

First of all no one is "complaining" of course BrandBucket is going to take what's best for their business and their clients and to say "We should not discuss it" is absurd. How else would anyone learn of BB likes or dislikes or their competitors such as Namerific or BrandRoot?

Ok. I should not have used the word "discuss". English is not my first language and realize it does not exactly have the same meaning as in french. I think the word I should have used is "argue".

Michael-could you address why the exceptionally high prices of the .ly names on BrandBucket as compared to other submissions. We've all been doing this for a while and know well that .ly does not trump .com. Thank you.
