If you choose countingdowndays, the system notes this on the backend. Too many of those bad choices indicates you either have poor taste in domains, or you are just randomly clicking. If I were BB, I would invalidate those individual's votes behind the scenes. Once the system matures I would actually remove accounts from the voting program who consistently chose what BB considers unacceptable names.

So banning for poor taste in domains? What next?

I also wanted to add, with my logo designer hat on, there appears to be an equally large backlog with getting them approved. I have a growing que of logos i have completed, but still not published. This matches my que of domains approved and not published.

Not so much banning for poor taste as it is banning spammers who are trying to abuse the system. But I could see that line being a little blurry, I guess.

One of my domain Photila accepted today has a suggested price of $1595. When I searched I saw that Photello is priced at $3,295 while Photivo is priced at $3,995.

I think they are sometimes realizing some of the pricing of some of the names are too high and they can't exactly reduce it after the fact.. so they are adjusting the pricing accordingly for the new names.. that's imo.
most of the names I sold fell more or less in that price range.. in only some rare cases would I not accept that pricing.

by the way, besides vikkr and vazoola which was listed by a fellow member (not my sales) , is there anybody else with recent sales on BB?

No sales here, but it is early..

The cumulative total of days I have had names published (aka live on the site, able to be bought by customers) is 971, with 0 sales. That number is how many days each of my published names have been live, all added together.

I have 44 names published, most of them went live within the past 2-3 weeks.

I've been able to track this number pretty easily because I have Excel spreadsheets where I record each Date Published for all of my accepted names. Then I just made another column: =TODAY()-DatePublishedCell. Then I just create a Sum at the bottom of the column.

In a 5% sell-through rate situation, you will sell 1 domain every 7,300 cumulative-listed-days (on average of course).

FWIW I had my 100th name accepted today. So I have 56 sitting in the queue, awaiting BrandBucket Review or Logo Design. None of my names have showed up in Pending Publishing for several days at least, now. So it is interesting to hear from @cocaseco that logos are done but not published -- maybe they have put that last phase on hold for a minute. In other words, maybe some of my logos are done, but the system is just not showing me that.

I have pulled back on regging for now, as I would like to see a sale or at least hear that others are getting some more sales, before plowing more energy down this road.

BB has allowed tons of mediocre names lately to be listed so sell through rates mean nothing if the names suck. Mediocre names will never ever sell and this is why members with 300 names haven't had any sales and they probably will never have any sales. Everyone thinks that just because the name got listed on BrandBucket that it's a great name when honestly it's just bad reviewers. Buyers don't want to sift through a bunch of junk to find a good name. 14,000 names is just to many and their search feature only works if you have at least part of a keyword in the name.

Brand Bucket used to list really good names now they list everything except the really bad names.

It is very subjective to say what is a good or bad brandable name. In many case they are invented words so it is normal to sound "unfamiliar" or weird. Many well-known brands with invented words have bad names.

That is a nice benchmark. I'll use that.

I'm reaching 100 accepted names too, and will hold off aswell until I see action.

I had a sale late last week which broke a 10-week dry spell on BB. Once transfer is complete I'll post name, but it was a 2-keyword name rather than pure brandable.

Sorry, but this is very bad brandable name.

To me this name represents nothing of value to a business. But I'm no expert.

The connotations that spring to mind are "cock", "cock new york, "cockney". None of which are desirable.

It does not pass the radio test.

For a pure brandable to work it needs to be catchy and maybe even cute, for longer names it needs to roll of the tongue and have some innate positive qualities, maybe an air of credibility.

I fear it doesn't, atleast not in english.

Is it really that bad? I mean users with 300 accepted names and no sales?

I have a really catchy one but it might be a bit over-the-top (similarity to a f-word meme).

Got rejected from namerific

I had Ruago, com accepted, but JayCay,com rejected. I thought they were both good names. Seeing some of the terrible names on BB it makes me wonder how they were ever accepted...

The one I got rejected from namerific they even said "no startup ever would use that name"

Nice to get some feedback though. I guess now you can go for names that are nothing like that one.
