Little update on my experience as a newbie with BrandBucket !

5 of the 8 domains I submitted on April 2nd have just been reviewed.
4 accepted and 1 rejected. The 3 others are still pending review. Maybe later today.

I have 34 more domains submitted on April 7th that are pending review.

4 accepted out of 5 so far, that is pretty encouraging.

Just in case anyone is wondering I will save you the suspense.

There is very little rhyme or reason to the review process.

I'm sure everyone on this forum have tons of rejected names that are probably a lot more valuable than many of the names currently listed on the front page.

It is my conclusion after submitting over 400 names that Brandbucket is either very unorganized or they are simply saving their advertising space ( with all the traffic they get ) for their own names.

It's ironic that one of their premium names for sale is donowrong.com

Unlikely you'll keep that rate. Possible if you have really great names, but generally I think you'll find the overall acceptance rate at around ~50% as your number of domains increases. But keep us informed!

"Do No Wrong" is quite a nice campaign-type name. I like it anyway.

Out of the 400 how many did they accept?

In case this might be useful, here are my overall stats:

Submitted: 695
To Do: 1
Pending (release): 43
Published: 209
Removed: 32
Pending (review): 131

My acceptance rate on reviewed names is
(1 + 43 + 209 + 32) / (695 - 131) = 285 / 564 = 51%

Your overall acceptance rate will be affected by how many names you submitted during the older regime when their acceptance criteria was far stricter. Newer sellers may have a higher overall acceptance rate. Based only on my submissions since March '14 my acceptance rate would be around 70-75%.

I have submitted 67 domain since March 31, and Today 5 domain rejected out of 10 submitted on that day.

Interesting stats. Thanks for sharing. I applaud you for your acception rate. I am sure it is exceptional.

Your overall acceptance rate will be affected by how many names you submitted during the older regime when their acceptance criteria was far stricter. Newer sellers may have a higher overall acceptance rate.

Up until now this has been a theory. There has been zero evidence suggesting that there is a new criteria for the acception rate.

The only thing we have heard so far is Michael krill tell us the acception rate has changed as well as telling us he hasn't received any favoritism.

Coincidentally this claim was also made directly after people have complained about their names being rejected and then sold wholesale to people on this website only to be accepted on brand bucket by premium members.

I for one try not to complicate things and go with the most simple explanation.

Especially considering The fact that several names he has registered did in fact go live on brand bucket in under 30 days of registering.

Not sure how credible his story is.

Perhaps it is true but I certainly wouldn't accept it as fact. At best it is a theory.

Despite the outcry We haven't heard any transparency from the owner of brand bucket substantiating this claim.

Do you know something that we don't know? Are you an ambassador too?

If you do know something we don't know please enlighten. I for one am all ears.

Watch the video on Domainsherpa.com with Margot. She discusses how they loosened up their acceptance criteria in early 2014.

Yes I do know a little about what's happening because I asked Margot, and she was very helpful with all my questions about the queue. They are changing their queue process, but from what was explained to me it's actually to the benefit of everyone and not just a few (although it may look otherwise currently as it's still a work-in-progress). I am quite happy with Margot's responses to me, and look forward to continued success on the BB platform.

No I am not an ambassador, and I am currently getting the exact same treatment (review, description, design, billing etc.) as everyone else here.

I've seen the video. Early 2014 Hardly describes what has been going on since 2015 and the discussions as of late.

I am glad that you have received transparency on this issue. I wish I could say The same for everyone.

Sorry, maybe you misunderstood what I was saying. Back in 2013 and early 2014 the overall acceptance rate was probably around 20-25%, and anyone submitting names then probably had a higher rejection rate than users submitting names since March 2014 only. That's what I was implying - older users might have an overall acceptance rate lower than newer users as their figures are skewed by the older (lower) acceptance rate. Hope that makes more sense?

As to what's been going on recently, as discussed here - it's actually two issues which probably appear to be one. It's not my place to act as a spokesperson for them, so my suggestion is you reach out to them and ask them any questions you have.

Just had 20 more names accepted from latest batch of 25. Looks like it's going to be a bumper month :)

One of my domain is accepted after 7 rejected domains, hopeful of 20 or more domain acceptance out of 67 submitted.

Submitted 3 , 1 got accepted. the most unusual one got accepted. I had once tried to sell that domain here for 5$ but nobody brought it. I hope it sells on BB. I don't have much hopes from it though.

I stopped trying to figure out what criterion they use. Admittedly I have become better at picking brandables in general so my acceptance rates went up across the board, but often I just shake head in disbelief at what comes through and what is left at the gates, so to speak.

Well, their loss is still my gain as I had some of BB rejects sell in "the other" brandable marketplace.

Care to share what your sold to published ratio is and perhaps what names you've sold so far? This would be the most interesting intel imo.

Hi Doron

I've had 12 sales on BB to date. Some I've mentioned in this thread. I've been a member for around 18 months, and based on my experience I work with an assumed sales rate of ~5% per annum.

I hope this helps.

@Brandworthy thanks for sharing. I'm at just under 10% but my portfolio is smaller with 75 published domains.

I think working out a sales rate is very difficult, with the error increasing as portfolio size decreases. To get anything statistically significant based on the total population of ~10,000 names you'd probably need a sample of around 2,000. This is further complicated by time horizon.

My 5% figure is a (very) rough guestimate TBH.

I had some of my better names refused which I was almost sure would've been accepted 2 months ago. Then I see the name being published and more and more I'm thinking BB exclusivity is no longer that appealing...
Some of the ones rejected surprisingly:

jumbostart 2015-03-25 Rejected
neatfiler 2015-03-25 Rejected
pillowhero 2015-03-25 Rejected
slimmish 2015-03-25 Rejected
supbot 2015-03-25 Rejected
wildstay 2015-03-25 Rejected
givoa 2015-03-25 Rejected
livoa 2015-03-25 Rejected
digidose 2015-03-26 Rejected
optimalspot 2015-03-30 Rejected
nauticaly 2015-03-28 Rejected
slimscale 2015-03-28 Rejected
expandyoursite 2015-04-02 Rejected
harvestmix 2015-04-02 Rejected
actimom 2015-04-03 Rejected
cheaplift 2015-04-03 Rejected
restolux 2015-04-03 Rejected

All these and others rejected (also DebtSwipe.com accepted for 995$ ahaahah)

Seriously think their radar is off these days especially with their mass approval of crap... (Then again it's manure season)

They rejected my 10 domain and accepted one domain for the same price as you mentioned, which I thing could have gone for more.
