Looks like BB is now charging $1 fee for all domains submitted for appraisal even those already registered. Anyone else seeing this?

Brandbucket charges $ 1 for each domain (registered or not registered) when submitted for approval. But you need not pay $ 10 listing fee when the domain name is approved for publication.

I was aware of the $1 submission fee and $9 fee for publication of unregistered domains... happened some time back. Hadn't seen any fees on submissions of registered domains.

$1/$9 fees apply regardless of whether or not the domain is registered to the person who is submitting the domain to BB.

Also, I would note that for the past several months the $9 fee has been waived with the understanding that it may be resumed at some future time.

The $9 fee is currently waived for all BB sellers on the Growth Program. If you joined BB before Jan 2017 than you need to send an email to [email protected] and ask to have your acct switched over to the Growth Program. Don't worry it's free!

Here is the original announcement sent to all BB sellers via email in Jan 2017:

Introducing the BrandBucket Seller Growth Program
In our continuing efforts to improve seller experience, we are thrilled to announce the new BrandBucket Seller Growth Program. This opt-in program is aimed at reducing costs for sellers by eliminating the need to register domains prior to submitting them to our marketplace. As a seller, you can obtain an "appraisal" on submissions which will help you decide whether to purchase a domain. By not having to pay registration fees on names that are not accepted, your overall costs will decrease.

    Here are the key features:

    • Submit unregistered names. You register only the names that are accepted.
    • $1 appraisal fee per submitted domain.
    • $9 listing fee per accepted domains.
    • $50 in initial credits if you sign up by January 12th.
To see exactly how much the Growth Program can save you, check out this cost calculator that will show the cost savings based on your current investing strategy on BrandBucket.

To get started with the Growth Program, email [email protected] and we will be happy to change your account and add 50 free credits* if you sign up by January 12th. Once you have made the switch, we would love hear your feedback to see how the program is working for you.
*Note: At present, you get 10 free credits, instead of 50, when you sign up

For more information, download this Growth Program document that discusses the program in more detail. As always, if you have any additional questions, feel free to email: [email protected].

What do you mean by "registration"? Do you mean submitting domain names that you haven't reg'ed yet, and letting BrandBucket register these for you?

I pay $1 for submitting domain for appraisal, and then publishing domain is free.

    Yes and no.
    Yes, domains you don't own
No, BB does not register domains that sellers submit

For example suppose you see that XYZZZZ.com is at an auction that it going to end in a week.
You can pay $1 and submit XYZZZZ.com to BB for review. If they accept it you can then bid on the name and publish it on BB at no additional cost since at present the $9 publishing fee is waived.

You don't have to own a domain to submit it for review.
But this feature is only available on the Growth Program.
Anyone who created a BB after Jan 2017 is automatically on the Growth Program.
Those who created a BB acct before Jan 2017 will need to email BB and request to be place on the Growth Program.

I joined after Jan 17, so makes sense then I didn't see the publishing fee.

Still I don't understand this table. Why do you list 3 fees - appraisal (submission), publishing (listing), registration? For growth, it says $1 submission fee, and $9 listing fee, and additional $9 registration fee. But there is no listing fee, nor registration fee? If you pay $1 submission fee, and domain is accepted then listing is free.

So for 400 submissions, you should have only $400 total? Or am I missing something? Are the fees deducted after sale?
