The domain name was bought through a broker for an undisclosed amount. The deal almost went south as the seller got a higher offer after agreeing with Braden Pollock to sell the domain name. The offer was for $5,000 more than the agreed price. Finally, the two parties agreed to go through with the sale for the agreed price. The transaction was completed in early March, 2015.
The seller from Houston owned the domain name since at least 2002. He was probably the original registrant back in 1994."
