It looks like it was the sellers name too - found this on Wikipedia

In 1999, Microsoft traded the valuable name Bob.com with internet entrepreneur Bob (lastname) for the name Windows2000.com which was the name of their new operating system.

Nice :)

I'd much rather have Bob.com :kickass:

It's crazy to think he'll be able to buy a HOUSE with the money he's going to make from this sale.

Ok, ok, I'm a *bit* jealous.

Hmmmmm, I've been looking into this listing and...

One of the guys that bid at $270,000 recently bought a used car for $7,300. If he can afford that domain, can't he afford a BETTER car?

I hope these bids are genuine...

Maybe that bidder plans on adding an engine from a supra, a fiberglass body, and platinum rims. I don't know why people buy crappy cars and put a lot of money into them, instead of just buying a nice BMW or Aston-Martin (sorry, I finally saw Casino Royale on Saturday)

I thought the seller might have been a scammer at first, mainly because of the poor quality of all of their listings. They say the same thing, with a couple of words changed to match the name. This is in contrast with their other listings, which feature nice templates with graphics. It kind of seemed like someone hijacked their account and listed all of these names. However, all of the names have the same whois pointing the the same site, and a couple of the names have sites which mention the seller's name, so it's probably safe as long as someone doesn't do something stupid like Western Union (ugh).

I think it is one of the strongest LLL.com's I've seen in a long time, especially since whenever I'm testing a script, such as an overture w/ ext checker, for some reason bob.com and fred.com are the first two names I check. Weird, eh?

Sam Walton drove an old 70's or 80's pickup truck till the day he died. Some people just aren't into keeping up with the jones's. You would be suprised at how many people with money only buy used cars and cheap housig. How do you think they became rich? Granted, that is a rare breed among baby boomers and gen xr's, but it is still possible.

Could be for his kid or something? I don't understand why people buy cars worth more than the house they live in either.

I actually value cars over homes. I just don't really see anything special about a home. Except the garage.

I recently sold Gary.com for 35k..I wonder how much it would have gone for on eBay. :(
