Blog vs. Static Page

Good Morning All.

I am looking for some advice/guidance. I have a idea in mind for a website. I have first hand knowledge of the topic. I have researched the keywords and think there is potential in this area.

Currently there a only a few sites that concentrate on this topic and most are crappy portal pages with lots of ads and very little unique content.

However, I can't decide if want to use a wordpress blog or just create static pages for my site or if there is some other technique out there that I am just completely missing the boat on.

Any comments?

im not an expert but i would go with wordpress i did up a mini site a month or so a go and im getting hits from ppl doing searches on google and i am yet to promote the site at all, i presume it is due to "Update Services" in options

I'm in the same boat, so I'm interested in hearing what people have to say in this thread about static sites or blogs.

My struggle right now is not knowing much about how to design code a blog template. I see all these free templates out there, but modifying them is pretty difficult.

Don't get me wrong I am no HTML expert, but I can at least layout and design my own pages with it.

These blogs do see to be very powerful tools foe SE submissions, etc.

wordpress or any blog script and update content regularly...also did you checked this one "keyword" in google, if the result is less than 100K...then you have better chance for qucik indexing...i got one in adult indeustry, i bought one domain without any dash or numbers, and installed b2evolution script before 2 and half month, now i am number 6 for the keyword, Interesting thing is i dont have any backlinks from any other site...

Did you design the blog yourself or outsource it? There are some many options and plug ins out there I am not sure where to start.
