Hi everyone! I purchased a domain name 3 days ago and received an email from them today saying they had appraised my domain name. I have bought names from the same company in the past, but they have never taken it upon themselves to appraise my names before.
I checked the report which say's it has an appraised value of $29,691 and a wholesale value of $22,268. It also say's it has a monetised value of $1,350 per day.
I must admit it is a good name, but what is the best way to monetise it, or where is the best place to sell it?
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Which company appraised your domain? I'd say it was suspect, at best.

Who are you buying domains from?
I have never had a registrar email me with any kind of valuation, etc.

Seems like a scam in the making.

I would be very suspect of any company I bought a domain from that sent me such an email.

Best was to monetize is either develop or as a mini site.
And then kick yourself because you won't make over 1k per day.

Notice, namepros has an active area to sell domains.

Yes, it's odd. I've purchased 6 names from them in the past but not received any such email. This one....they said they had done an appraisal and invited me to check the results, and suggested i protect the name. I'll try list it in the appraisals forum to see what other members think.
I noticed that the domain name when used as search terms, shows 22,000 searches per month with low competition in googles keyword checker, not sure if that has any relevance, but the name also makes a great sub-domain name.

Thanks, i'll put it to other members in the appraisals section to get a better idea!

The least you can do it parking it. If possible, build a site that can be marketed. If nothing works, keep it with you and sell in the future at a better price. Or if dont want to take the risk of keeping it, sell it at a better price.

I don't know why they are taking the trouble to appraise names and send you an email. 99% it looks scam but I hope it isn't.

Thats strange... I get emails all over the place, they sent me several emails about how they appraised them and with the same fake statistics as with the thread starter. Than they send you the link to the creapy domains they own for XXXX USD each. I guess its the scam for 1st time unexperienced buyers.
