I am looking for some helpful advise on domain registrar's. I have searched this site as well as several search engines and there is so much info both good & bad about all registrar's it seems. It's hard to decide what is best because all the information is a bit overwhelming. I am fairly new in this field and have tried to read everything I can about things but there are a few things I need more knowledge in and registrar's are one of them. I wanted to know if all those who are willing to share their opinions with me will do so?

Here's what I need info on:

1. Is there a certain registrar that is best for domain names I want to keep and use for whatever purpose I have for them? A registrar that I should use for domains I have no intention of selling?

2. Is there a registrar that is best to have the domains I want to sell at? A registrar that makes it easy to transfer domains, is secure, etc.?

3. If there was only 1 registrar you could use, who would it be and why?

What I am trying to do is just get a good idea of both the Pros & Cons of these registrar's and see what would be the best choice for each or the two situations. Any and all input is welcome and VERY MUCH appreciated. I am new at this but I want to learn as much as possible and be informed so I make the right choices. I have domains at 6 different registrars that I have bought over many months and want to move them all to 1 or 2 for the reasons I want the info listed above for.

Thanks in advance for any information and input. Pros and cons of each are greatly appreciated.

I like Dynadot.for domains I am keeping. Their user interface is intuitive for me. It is easy to set up folders by category and make changes to the DNS, which I do frequently. You automatically get a discount as your total spend increases. I have never felt the need to contact their support in the many years I have had an account there.

GoDaddy makes it really fast to transfer a domain so I can see why sellers like it. I find the need for coupon codes and the endless upsells unbearable, so I transfer any registrations out as soon as possible.

Thanks for your input and information. I don't really know to much about Dynadot but I have seen them mentioned quite often when registrar's are being discussed. I will have to check into them and learn more about them. As for GoDaddy, I had a domain with them a couple years ago and kept getting phone calls and emails trying to sell me extra's. It was a pain but after I figured out how to deal with there sales tactics it wasn't too bad. I see a lot of people use them though. Thanks again for your input, it's greatly appreciated.

Stick around namepros and read the forums.
Everyone has already chimed in at some point as to the best registrar, the best for parking domains, selling and buying.

Thanks, I have done that and it can get even more confusing. I have figured out that most people like godaddy for domains they plan to sell since the can always buy them cheap with the abundant codes they always have. It's the domains a person wants to keep for a while where there is info thats needed. I have several I am planning on registering and want to use later for site's I want to develop for certain reasons and I want them to have whois privacy but I don't really want to put out the $ for the reg fees and privacy just yet. I was wanting to reg maybe 10 now (as cheap as possible) and add the privacy later and I am trying to figure out what the best way to go about it is.

As for the best for parking, I haven't seen a lot of info talking about just that as far as a certain registrar. I have spend countless hours on here looking for all the information I can find and sometimes it's hard to find exactly what I am looking for. Even doing so many searches, they still don't show exactly what a person is looking for always. I am still going to be going through and doing a lot more research about this topic and many more I am wanting info on. I really do love this site as well as the many great people on here. Yourself included. I have read many posts by you and appreciate the information and advise you share with everyone. Thanks for your input and have a great evening.
