I need to register about 500 names and I'm trying to find the best system for registering them all at once and then managing them all. I'm searching through old threads seeing what people have to say, I just figured I'd ask for some recent opinions too in case anything has changed. I need a system where I can just upload a list of all the names I want to register, and then something that ideally lets you separate your names into "groups", make bulk changes to nameservers, contact info, etc. by group, etc. etc. So what's the best?

I would have to say GoDaddy. It lets you do a bulk register of 500 domains. It has domain groups for seperating them, bulk edit features to do name server, contact info, ect. You can assign an account exec to your account, and you will qualify for the bulk register fee, which isn't too shabby.

definately godaddy - however issue is 1and1 has a promo for .com $5.99 with private registration so $$$ wise godaddy doesn't make right sense now...

True, but with a coupon code, even at 10% off, you are down to $6.30. That's $0.31 more, but if you decide to transfer out of 1and1, you might wish you spent that 31 cents.
