Hello,

Have been holding this domain (and using for personal email, etc.) for...guessing 10 years or so now. Ben(.)org

Recently was approached by an admitted domain speculator and that got me curious what it's really worth.

Would appreciate any insights you may be able to share. I'm NOT in the domain business...just a dude that was geeky enough to get ahold of the domain a long time ago.

Regards,
Ben

Hi Ben,

Nice name. I'm a fan of three-letter .orgs. Based upon past sales and my own experience, ben.org is probably in the neighborhood of $5k to $8k to a reseller. If you can find another Ben that would pay more, or perhaps an organization using BEN as its initials, you'd push into the $xx,xxx level.

Ben, if you really want to sell the domain name, you might try to find few more buyer who is interested with the domain, and send it to the auction (of course with the reserve price that you want)

I would not sell ben.org below $5K if I am the owner.

I'm curious to hear your reasoning as to why this name is not worth $25,000 to an end user. :) Fragger pointed out some nice acronyms for this three-letter .org; And, of course, Ben is a very common name. All you need to find is the right Ben that wants the name enough. :) Recent LLL .org sales don't make a $xx,xxx sale unreasonable.

definitely

If this was on auction on a site like NJ, it would go over $10K without any doubt.

When you figure random LLL.com go for around that, this would be as easy sale for that price.

Given the rarity of enduser sales (especially for .org's) it would be foolish to suggest sale price that has a very low probability of ever happening is actually the value of the name. Agree with the appraisals around 3k. Compare the name to say you.org which got 14.5k a couple of weeks ago.
