You may be aware that we've started a new blog series called New Names, which documents the recent purchases of domain investors. We're always interested in what other investors are buying and we want to extend the "New Names" submission process to all members.

It's a chance for you to get your recent purchases featured on the NamePros Blog. However, there are a few rules:

Include a brief explanation of the reason(s) you purchased each domain name.

The submissions that are the most interesting, have insightful explanations, or are of premium domains will have the best chance of being selected.

--

This is a great opportunity to showcase your new purchases. You'll be able to tell us all why you bought the name and what your plans are for it.

Post your domain name(s) and reason(s) below. Thanks!

Acquired between 12/14/2015 and 12/21/2015

Over $100

  • FishStick.com: I saw this domain and instantly liked it. There is no way you'd forget a company named FishStick, nor is there a way to misspell it. In my opinion, those two traits coupled make for a great brandable.
  • MoralSupport.com: This is another one I instantly fell in love with. It's a well-known phrase, easy to remember, and easy to spell. While I don't think this is a pure brandable, it could be used for a variety or purposes ranging from fail sites to actual support sites.

Under $100
  • ForexGroups.com: Forex (foreign exchange) is a hot niche. There is no shortage of want to be internet marketers *cough WF cough* who would be interested in building out this domain. While it's not a homerun, it's a solid double.
  • PromoteTransparency.com: This domain has a clear call to action and government transparency has become a growing issue in recent years.
  • MultiDock.com: With every brand having a proprietary charging cord, it's only a matter of time before someone builds a universal charging system.
  • eJunky.com: I bought this just because. No rhyme or reason.
  • FindBabysitters.com: I was advised not to purchase this one by my girlfriend. However, I thought it was a decent set of keywords with some upside.
  • TowTime.com: Pure brandable. I'm also a sucker for alliterations
  • DevelopmentTools.com: This one is a killer. There are hundreds of websites using this keyword combination. The sectors range from self-improvement to the tech sector. Someone is bound to pay up for this name.

Nice name, not too smart imo to share you've paid under $100 for it if your goal is for someone to "pay up for it"

Everyone knows a name could be once bought for rego fee. I would dismiss the argument as it was bought from a wholesaler.

I do think this is a doubled up thread one would think regoftheday thread would cover this.

I recently acquired GirlFlex.com at a very reasonable price. Girl Flex in my opinion is highly brandable for so many different reasons that I just couldn't pass it up.

- Any flexible clothing product for women.

- Any exercise product/equipment for women.

- Flex your muscle's, pics or videos.

- Vitamin product for women.

- Workout video for women.

This domain cries unlimited potential IMO. I don't plan to develop at this time but rather search out an end user as this one has brandable all over it.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Within the new gTLDs I recently registered LV.casino. I have many reasons for getting this domain name.

- Great for any site wanting to promote Las Vegas casinos for affiliate income or advertising space.

- Who knows maybe someday there might be a new casino called LV in Vegas, this is your domain.

- Awesome re-direct to any licensed casino, or related business in Vegas, it's unlimited.

- LL.extension, can't get any better than that...

Maybe someone can broker this one at NamesCon for me! :)

Might develop myself but have other projects currently. I'll roll the dice and look for an end-user first.

I had recently purchased Gamble.xyz

IMO Gamble.xyz will have a decent ROI selling to the Asian market for a casino or online betting website. I will hold this name 7+ years and sell it in a combined in package with MakeLucky.com as they fit well together...

Gamble.xyz is also a prefect short brandable IMO.

8.xyz sold for 81.7k on 4.cn 88.xyz might sell for more in the upcoming namescon auctions which will be a good indicator for specific gambling or money .xyz numeric domains with the Asian domain investors. It all ties in together for me for future sales...

I would disagree with you. I would argue that only resellers care about how much someone paid for the name. Just my opinion though.

actually I bet nobody cares how much you paid ....

GoaMice.com & MiceGoa.com - Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE)

Beacuse of this,
Goa holds the distinction of being the only market in the country that has witnessed a continuous increase in RevPAR over the last five years, exhibiting a healthy 6.9 per cent year-on-year growth. Many factors, such as strong growth in charter movements, an upswing in domestic consumption patterns and the promising growth in the Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) segment, have favourably impacted Indiaโ€™s most preferred leisure destination.
And this
โ€œThe MICE and business travel has grown on an average of over 15 per cent over the years,โ€ said Shridhar Nair, General Manager, The Leela Goa. The wedding segment especially has been fuelling the demand for the hotels in Goa. โ€œThere has been a 20 per cent increase year-on-year in the wedding business,โ€ exclaims Siddharth Savkur, General Manager, Alila Diwa Goa adding that with the growth in destination wedding business and business travel, the gap between season and off-season has shrunk quite dramatically. โ€œWe are now as busy during our monsoons as we are in the winter season,โ€ elaborates Savkur. The wedding segment has been fuelling business for Radisson Goa with 3-4 weddings every month on an average.
And this
GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES
With the announcement of a world-class convention centre to be developed in Goa in the last union budget, hoteliers are hopeful of capitalising on the potential segment. Hotels in Goa are increasingly focusing on the conferencing facilities being offered. MICE plays a very important role for a steady flow of business round the year and primarily during off season when the room rates are low. โ€œIt may take another five years for the convention centre to materialise but it will undoubtedly boost the MICE business in the city,โ€ said Nair.

However if a pest control company asked to buy it, I wont mind.

I'm collecting VR names cos I think there is going to be a huge market for them over the next few years which I then add to my VRMarketplace.

Picked these up over the last two weeks:

VrSone.com - I hand reg this, I thought it sounded like a VR Console. I think it sounds really cool. I'm going to hang onto it for a few years so I put a high $$$$ price on it.

VBionics.com - I love this name, "Bionics is the present & future of limbs, drones, auto, robots, etc". With the V on the front of Bionics it could be a great company name or a Virtual Training for VR, who knows:)

MoviesVR.net - Another (VR) name. Even though it's a Dot Net I still think this is a great name for movies which could sell for anything from low $$$$ to high $$$$ maybe even more if I'm really lucky lol.
