I'm prepared to admit for the first time that .mobi may actually have a chance. When I logged into to my Bank of America account this morning I saw a big advertisement for their online banking. The domain name was bofa.mobi. No alternatives. No use of bofa.com/mobi or mobi.bofa.com

I saw a Chase Bank commercial about their mobile banking capabilities. Though they didn't mention .mobi, perhaps they will soon.

They are the same company. Chase merged/bought JP Morgan several years ago.

I don't see any value in the names and don't see their relevance to the OP's topic.

This bofa.mobi news is great though. I would love to see the other big banks join in. Maybe online banking will kick start the .mobi and the mobile interenet :hehe:

Although we've known about this story for a while now, it looks like many are taking notice.

This BofA.mobi thing is probably the best news for .mobi so far this year, IMO.

Would be nice if a certain "backer" of .mobi would start promoting theirs, google.mobi!

It's appears a stand-alone site for mobile use by its customers ... and it IS promoted, in part, from its main BankOfAmerica.com site from the "Mobile Banking" link, as well. This is a developed corporate website adding to the "ecosystem", IMHO. :music:

As a customer, I've never received any email or regular mail promoting the BOFA.mobi, or have I seen any ads promoting it. Perhaps this is coming next? Any additional insight would be appreciated, as well.
