Bad domaining behavior...the pet peeve thread!

- repeated bumps in sales threads with no price lowering or new info

- arguments about appraisals

- complaints about estibot - its free so if you don't like it, don't use it

- bumping ones last 5 or so threads in a row in a sales forum

- disrespect for mods or senior (3-4 years +) members who offer opinions

- "official" threads :hehe:

Post #13 had a good example of this except many noobs are hellbent on their idiotic rhetoric and won't let it die down.

I definitely agree, Randy; it really annoys me even more when people edit out/retract their statements after they've opened a can of worms that should have stayed closed.

I know what you're saying: just because one person has a bad experience or does something wrong on their part makes them think they've discovered illegal activity or a shady operation.

I am always suckered by the titles that say "priced for a quick sale" or "I need to sell these today!"

Almost without exception, the domains are way overpriced. Do they need the money or not??

1. Posting stuff not related to a sale in a sales thread. For example, instead of making an offer they post something bad about the domain. Go to DP if you want to do that.

2. People with ridiculously low budgets when they are looking for domains in the Domains Wanted section, and even worse people who post a comment about the budget instead of just moving along (If you dont like the budget just dont sell to them)

3. People who win auctions and then disappear or ignore you, very unprofessional.

I'm going to have to agree with Samit on this one. I HATE misleading sales thread titles. It's just a total disappointment when you are expecting one thing when you are going to look at a thread, then it's some crappy completely different thing. They are just time waisters, and I hate 'em!

Domain discussion

Evey second thread, regardless of subject, turning into a Idealogical and or political debate that invariably goes nowhere, becomes a massive slanging match and ends up making that particular thread pointless. This happens all to regularly and I have found myself falling into this one as well...sorry

This extension sucks threads - ok...fine but what about the other 37 threads that are exactly about the same thing?

Parking & Monetization

Matt, when is version 2 of bodis coming out? - fair question, except when it's right in front of you.

People going from "official threads" or starting their own threads and accusing other parking companies of being scammers. - and with no proof! (not talking about RD - seems to be a legit problem there and I''d add Parking Panel). Parked seems to be the fav of failed scammers...poor Donny.

My earnings are going down - Sorry, you are probably not Robinson Crusoe there folks.

Domain Appraisals

Reg Fee...ok..fine, I can live with that but what is your justification?

Low $xx, low $XXX, High $xx,xxx....ok...I can live with that too, but once again, what is your justification?

What do you think Googleboy.com will be worth?... STOP THIS SHIT!...You give all involved in the domain industry a bad name. Go and read some more in this forum before registering another name.

My only other pet peeve is when people are not polite enough to leave rep when you know that they are going to use the info you gave them, and that you have helped them out.

On a closing note, I have found that there is a lot of negativity going on at the moment. Which is sad for such a great place of learning. This is a great resource and a great community. Lets try to keep it that way. Treat people with the respect that you would assume for yourself.

I guess the thing that makes me the most sad ... is when otherwise good folks - albeit some new or newer and/or more impressionable, yet still brothers and sisters of ours here in the #1 Namepros Family™ - who end up losing shedloads of money in both registration costs and perpetual renewals of hyped extension(s) with little or no actual substance and LOTS of unanswered questions and concerns (while the Registry itself has repeatedly broken its promises and is obviously only in existence for pure greed and selfish purposes), IMHO.

This is my main point of sadness or Pet Peeve© for the our top-rated community! :gl: :imho:

I hear this complaint a lot: "Keyword.com was added to TRAFFIC but they wouldn't accept my 24Keyword365.ws! What a crock of unjustified bullshit! TRAFFIC are ran by scammers. DON'T TRUST THEM!" I see no professionalism -- or logic -- in these complaints.

And the naked party was fun. Too bad you missed it last night
