.mobi Availability of .mobis on GoDaddy ...

Just been on Godaddy checking out random names, and as predicted, all the good ones were regged.

However, a check for the name mp3player.mobi shows me that it IS available. However, when checking the mobi whois, as well as other registrars, it rightly shows that the name is held by the mobi registry.

I swear, checking domains on Godaddy is not good for the health. My eyes popped out my head when I saw it showing as available. I am still trying to push them back into their sockets.

Anyone else come across names that show as available, when they are obviously not ??

I haven't found that with .mobi yet Alex, just other extensions and yes it is such a disappointment when they are taken!

I have seen that with godaddy as well. If it seems to good to be true - I check it again & sure enough it is taken. just a bug I guess.

i have encountered this ... showed avatars.mobi was available, went to reg with no avail - it's a premium domain

I've had that happen on some .com's. I thought I had some decent names and then I got an email saying they were already registered. To top it off I had to send them an email requesting a refund, it wasn't automatic.

I hate when others do that when checking for a name. I use DomainSite to check for names. They have never been wrong for me...Yet

The same thing happened to me at godaddy with traffic.co.uk.
It is such a letdown to think that you have a great name and then to get the godaddy email saying that it isnt available after all.

.info registration was really frustrating

Hey,
It happened same to me. Infact some of the following .info domains were showing as available.

gold.info
calendar.info
and few more generic names which I dont remember.

I even completed the registration process and placed the order thru Godaddy. Immediately after the order confirmation email I got another letter stating that its been registered in .info registry database.

However I got a full refund (domain registration as well as the appraisal amount) after 2 -3 days.

I had it happen with library.mobi and just two days ago I registered wednesday.info only to find out hours later it was already taken. Just got the refund today.
