Auction for domain owned elsewhere?

Hi all,

Appologies if im being daft or missed posts about this already but tried my first domain via snapnames the other day and was informed it had gone to auction via them with three bidders, its listed as an active auction on the website just now with all of us currently at $60.

However I just checked the whois information and its been updated as of yesterday but is now owned by a company completly unrelated to snapnames and has a holding page on it.

Just wonder how i can be sitting in an auction on snapnames for a domain that was caught by someone else?

That's a good question, but to answer more facts will be
needed. Like when the auction end time was, was there a
BIN (buy it now) tag, etc...

There have been some questionable actions by
Drop Houses going on for awhile now.
I'm hoping we can get that squared away soon.

Sounds like you must be talking about Network Solutions Pending Renewal or Deletion.
