I have a several names which received offers at SEDO. I am OK with price and ready to send those to names an auction. Now my problem is i don't like the auction end time. Contacted customer service asking them to see if i can choose the auction end time. They said auction end time cannot be changed.

per sedo " auction ends approximately 7 Days (168 Hours) after the initial offer was made".

I have a problem with this process because potential buyer controls the auction ending time..

We need your opinions about this process. Are you comfortable with this policy ?

i always thought that was kind of poopy too- it should not be when the bid was made, but when you sent it to auction

Poopy? :sold:

Yah, that is the $hit's. It should be when you accept it, but there has to be a time limit on it. 2 days, 3days to accept etc.

I agree. The seller should have at least some control over the auction end time.

Don't forget, however, that Sedo is truly worldwide in reach. 4 am in the morning where I am in the US is mid-morning in Europe, and that's not always a bad thing.

Anyway, I think it would be hard to change things much without tilting things too far to the seller...and if that happened it might limit the probability of initial bids.

Agreed...in theory. But again, I know there are buyers who do play with the end time, and these people would not bid at all if they couldn't. If you want the bid, you may have to accept the end time.

Or, try countering next time with a BIN level high counter, withj a message saying that that is what you'd need to have an auction end at the time of day of their initial offer. If they turn you down but want the name, maybe they'll re bid at a different time.

Bottom line, auction end time is something we should keep in mind when considering the offer.
