Optimum SEDO Auction End Time

Can anyone comment on the best time to start an auction on SEDO so that it ends during peak traffic hours. For example, would an ending time of 3:00pm EST on Thursday be better than an ending at 2:00am on Sunday?

since you ask for peak traffic hours , you are logically the seller ... therefore you cannot set auction start time or end time ... the time that a buyer sent an offer is the start time (if you send the domain to auction with that offer as minimum bid) and end time is seven days after start time regardless the time you sent it to auction ... more info here






unless you mean to ask a SEDO broker to start an auction , in which case they probably have suggestions for you (they have more data and started thousands of auctions, many for premium names)






in general most people say the best hours for auction endings is 18:00 - 22:00 PST (after work for the US) ... while for best days , many say Sunday is best , some say during weekdays (on non-good TV days) ... more info here ...and here (for auction end times in general , rather old data though , 2004)

Thank you. That certainly helps in my understanding. I was under the assumption that the ending time would be exactly 7 days after "I" sent it to auction instead of the time of the offer.

you can check about this in the ToS ("The Auction Period ends seven days after the initial bid had been submitted which triggered the seller to start the auction." , Section 5.1.2.2 , 2nd Paragraph)

... or you can check the remaining-time/end-time under the send-to-auction option when you receive an offer (which is calculated by the time the buyer sent the offer)

I'm new to SEDO and have had several offers and was unaware (due to lack of attention) that starting an auction was even an option until just recently.
