I receive an email yesterday from a registrar (not mine) saying that a transfer has been requested for several of my domains. It's the standard transfer request with a link for authorization. These names have not been sold and I definitely did not initiate this request. Looks like someone was trying to snatch these name away from my account.

I reset my password at my current registrar and made sure they were Locked. Is there anything else I should do to better protect these particular names from theft? I was planning to change my email password too but haven't yet.

I guess at least someone would like these name. LOL. Any advice would be appreciated.

Just leave them locked and delete the email.

You already changed your pass so there shouldn't be any worries.

Perhaps you should report the attempt to the gaining registrar so they can slap their customer...

I was thinking about that. I'll give it a try. Thanks.

Has happened to me a couple of times. As long as your domains are locked and you use a strong password at you registrar should you be fine. To secure very valuable domains can you as well use registrars such as Moniker.com and MarkMoniter.com as they provide a high level of security.

If you got the email from the gaining registrar requesting approval, leave them
alone. Secure your email address on record as well.

And make sure your computer's clean, too.
