Domain hijacking???

I received for the second time in a row a domain transfer request from an individual about a domain.
the registrar is "Schlund+Partner AG".
It looks like from what the email says , that If I do not agree, the domain will not be transfered.
But..... better safe than sorry.

Has anyone else recieved such 'weird' transfer notice out of the blue?
I obviously can not lock the domain since the intro of EPP codes for .com/.net, but it is worrying me, just in case someone gets a hold of an EPP code.

In the email, it lists the name of this individual, which apparently is using a registar called "1&1 Internet SARL", yet my domain is at eNom.

what to do???
TIA

Schlund+Partner and 1an1 are the same people, is the name
of the registrant Stan Sinitzky by chance?
Or is it your domain and did you get it at Afternic Bizzar?

Hi.

No, thats not the name, and I had purchased the domain at pool in 2003.
It has been my domain since then.
I just find it strange that the requests are coming in.

It could be an attempted hijack, but it could also could be someone attempting to transfer the wrong domain by misspelling it or typing the wrong extension. As long as it's an EPP domain you should be safe. Also, check to make sure the domain is locked.

Thanks.
You can not lock EPP domains.
this one is a .com, and apparently, it can not be locked like the old days.

I had 1&1 attempt the same thing with one of my domains. I'm not sure if it was an error or an attempted hijack, but knowing how 1&1 does business, I'd say the latter.

I've had this happen before as well. In my case, I believe it was just a mistake (e.g. someone mistyped the domain name). Regardless of whether this is a mistake or a phishing attempt, your domain is safe so long as you do NOT agree to the transfer.

Seems like a confusing time for anyone with domains at RF with all the reseller stuff.
Some people probably would not know what registrar they are accepting the transfer to.

Or it could be the old owner- wondering what he did with his domain, tried re-registering, saw it was not available and throught he'd try transfering in case he was still the owner, completely innocently.
