Wow. Got a letter in my email today from my domain registrar telling me that someone....hopefully me....requested my user name and password for two of my domain names. I never requested my user name and password be sent.....i know them of course. I straightened it out with the company i register names thru fast. Someone was trying to steal my domain names. Has this happened to anyone else?

Yes

Someone tried to swipe one of mine a few weeks ago. I immediately changed the password again and made it far more complex.

Maybe, maybe not. I've been on both ends of that story. It's not too hard to enter the wrong domain name on a lost password request form. Could be wrong TLD, wrong plurality, typo, or similar username on the account. I know I've accidentally requested lost PW on .com when I actually owned the .net.

On the other hand, it could be a hijack attempt. change your password and keep a close eye out. You could even move to another account name for safety sake. If locking is possible, lock it from transfer.

That doesnt sound to good, just make sure that you change your passwords from time to time to prevent people from stealing accounts with names attached to them.

hestheman there will always be people like that. Just protect your username/pass and ignore emails that you did not ask to recieve.

You could consider regularly changing your domain passwords. I change mine regularly.
