Hi everyone,
I've been a bit busy lately and I'm not well updated about the latest developments in the domain marketplace industry.

I previously sold some domains through Dan, afternic, sedo and atom.

I was pointing most of my domains to dan.com (besides SH premiums), till they ended the platform and then moved all of them to afternic since then.

I'm using the lander with the request info form (without bin).

I noticed some leads being worked but without any sales. I also noticed a huge drop in my domains views stats on afternic.

Now I've seen some new interesting features offered by atom, so I would ask you which is the best platform to use as landers for your domain portfolio?

1) Keep atom.com premiums pointed there and everything else to afternic.com
- in this case should I switch to bin lander for my mid/low priced domains (under 5k)?

2) Move everything to atom.com
- in this case it's worth to upgrade them to plus?

Please share your thoughts!

Thanks

Atom has great features and an excellent interface, but it just doesn't sell. Afternic is a piece of crap—high fees, terrible usability—but a high transaction rate.

Why do you think that Atom doesn't sell?

In the past, maybe, but with added work created by the closure of Dan, it's more like a "high offer rate" as the brokers just can't keep up.

Agree. So where are you pointing your domains?

Afternic for now, but I've also decided to list my portfolio at Atom (standard listing) and Domain Easy, then if Afternic delays their Self-Brokerage System again (or screws the pooch on its design or implementation), I'm a quick nameserver change away from being back in business.

For my uses, Afternic is totally unusable right now, as I don't think most of the brokers know their ass from a hole in the ground, and even if they do, they're all so overworked that they no longer care. And worst of all, their interests do not align with mine.

There is only one person I want in charge of selling my domains, and that's me. I really miss that ability to "move fast" on a negotiation, thereby raising quick cash for an acquisition.

At Afternic, the word "quick" doesn't even exist and there is no possible way to quickly counter a pile of old leads and potentially make a sale, like you could at Dan.

Dan's landers were so much better

Hi

i always felt like interest in the domain is what makes the sell, not the lander.

any standard lander will do, but it's the customer service and fee's that matter most.

imo...

That's not true my friend.
The lander, the pricing strategy, and the overall customer experience make the difference too

Hi

for sure, it's true
especially for names that "speak for themselves"

i still get inquires and sales via incoming email, where there's no lander involved,
and probably would get more via phone, except i don't answer the long-distance numbers.

dan was cool because you could message with buyer, though it was something they took from unireg.
at uni, you could broker your own sales, fee free, but neither had a special lander that made the sell.

imo,,,

I'm just seeing this feed and I'm facing the same issue. Have you now settled on either afternic or Atom for your nameservers? Does is make a difference?
