Hey Folks,

I've just started using squadhelp.com to list some of my brandable. So far I have 76 domains listed, there is no fee to list. I've had some decent action so far in the way of interested buyers but no sales as of yet. I've only been with them for 1 week now.

A bit of a summary review of SquadHelp:

PROS

• No Listing fee
• No Logo design fee
• Ability to submit your names to end users holding naming contests
• Ability to chat directly or send a message directly to end users.
• Stats of your marketplace domains are shown in the marketplace dashboard.
• Their customer service and support has been great, 24hr a day chat.
• Ability to increase or decrease the list price of your domains or to show a discount. You can decrease or increase the price yourself by $200. If you want to lower more, you can contact support.
• End users can shortlist your domains before they make a decision on which they want to purchase. The number of shortlists is shown in you marketplace dashboard.
• When you submit your names you get to set the price you wish to get. Because their commissions are high I recommend listing at a higher price to offset the commission costs.
• Their landing pages are fairly basic but they work. Because the marketplace is fairly new, I'm sure we will see style improvements in the future.
• One thing I really like is they accept multiple extensions. I have listed .co and .io along with .com
• Each seller gets a direct link to their marketplace portfolio, HERES MY PORTFOLIO. It is handy if your trying to p[promote your portfolio through social media.
• I like that their marketplace doesn't have tens of thousands domain listings like BB. They are fairly strict on the domains they accept to list and so this helps keep the number of domains in the marketplace down and gets your listings more exposure.

CONS

• Their commissions are very high, depending on the domain name they are usually between 30% and 35%. However, there are no listing fees, no logo design fees, so in the end their commission is very similar to brand buckets.
• Their logos are not top quality, in fact I requested to have some of my logos remade.
• I think they have a big backlog of logos to design, the wait time for logo design has been around 1 week, but your names are still listed while the logos are being designed.
• After your names are accepted you need to agree to their commission rate, at this point you also need to apply your own keywords, descriptions etc. I found this was very time consuming.

Transferred a few domains, they are now 60 days transfer locked.

I think I have seen somewhere that Atom would allow instant transfer out for any domains.
As far as I know ICANN required 60 days transfer lock for recently transfer in domains is not mandatory from ICANN, it's registrar's choice.
Dynadot allow transfer out of recently transfer in domains immediately. I hope Atom will allow this also.

I do not like that it's jet black with seemingly no way to change it - screws up my eyes when I'm also using the main white background.

And the font size on the left tab is smaller than it was and painful to read. Is it just me?

Question about (Sedo) Distribution and Plus listings.

I have 213 Plus listed domains. Majority of them are showing Sedo distribution (lit up) but 9 are not and I am wondering why not/how to get these Plus into Sedo? 2 of those filter as "Sedo Sync Issues"....

I recall Atom and Sedo no longer syndicating Premium - I realize we can not list our Premium names at Sedo, so this is just about the Plus names...

I have an account with Sedo but I do not have any domains listed in that account because at one time Atom syndicated ALL of the domains (Premium, too) over to Sedo.

So, how can I get ALL of my Plus names over into Sedo as well? I dont see any apparent way from the menu on Atom..

ADDITIONAL: most not listed with Sedo are (one-word) .io and (one-word) .now but also a short dot com. I dont see anything obvious about a trend, like the keyword(s) being controversial or anything.

I think it's roughly the same size, but a different font, which when combined with the jet black background, does make it look smaller.

No idea why they changed the bar to such a dark color - if you want to make the sidebar more prominent, then use bolder font, a light-gray background or make it a bit larger. This design just hurts the eyes.

Sedo doesn't allow listing few names that are either controversial or has trademark issues. Maybe because of that if not the sync issue. You can try listing them directly to check if it throws error when you try to add to Sedo.

Thanks, I should have added that some are (very safe) one-word dictionary word (.io) and ALL were at one time listed at Sedo in my account, and then removed to allow the Atom→Sedo syndication.

I'll give it a try, manually, from the Sedo side... But none of these would be considered controversial in any way - should have added that to the original post. (will do now)

My understanding is that Atom no longer syndicates any listings to Sedo. You are allowed to manually list Standard/Plus domains on Sedo (not Premium since they're exclusive to Atom), however the syndication is no longer...

Thanks, I guess the Distrubtion column in the new "my listings" page should not include Sedo or No Sedo because of that.. It is confusing.

It looks as if they changed the left side to a medium gray color, which I think is better than the original. Give it a try..

Also, I wouldn't expect the registrar to be working perfectly this year. Auctions have been screwy for me. Especially e-mails. I would receive e-mails that domains I was auctioning had bids when they had but...but earlier in the year they had received bids so maybe that is why I was getting e-mails giving me false hopes.

On the plus side when domains sell, they do really well at getting me paid right away and I think that's the most important thing!

Sedo is actively looking to exit, or up for sale. Atom is has it's own domain registrar now, and building internal tools. One chose to grow, and the other decided to stay status quo, usually how relationships end. Sedo has had first mover advantage over everyone, but has failed to really innovate in anyway in the past 20 years?
