Atom / Atom.com - Marketplace (formerly Squadhelp)

Watch
Hey Folks,

I've just started using squadhelp.com to list some of my brandable. So far I have 76 domains listed, there is no fee to list. I've had some decent action so far in the way of interested buyers but no sales as of yet. I've only been with them for 1 week now.

A bit of a summary review of SquadHelp:

PROS
  • No Listing fee
  • No Logo design fee
  • Ability to submit your names to end users holding naming contests
  • Ability to chat directly or send a message directly to end users.
  • Stats of your marketplace domains are shown in the marketplace dashboard.
  • Their customer service and support has been great, 24hr a day chat.
  • Ability to increase or decrease the list price of your domains or to show a discount. You can decrease or increase the price yourself by $200. If you want to lower more, you can contact support.
  • End users can shortlist your domains before they make a decision on which they want to purchase. The number of shortlists is shown in you marketplace dashboard.
  • When you submit your names you get to set the price you wish to get. Because their commissions are high I recommend listing at a higher price to offset the commission costs.
  • Their landing pages are fairly basic but they work. Because the marketplace is fairly new, I'm sure we will see style improvements in the future.
  • One thing I really like is they accept multiple extensions. I have listed .co and .io along with .com
  • Each seller gets a direct link to their marketplace portfolio, HERES MY PORTFOLIO. It is handy if your trying to p[promote your portfolio through social media.
  • I like that their marketplace doesn't have tens of thousands domain listings like BB. They are fairly strict on the domains they accept to list and so this helps keep the number of domains in the marketplace down and gets your listings more exposure.
CONS
  • Their commissions are very high, depending on the domain name they are usually between 30% and 35%. However, there are no listing fees, no logo design fees, so in the end their commission is very similar to brand buckets.
  • Their logos are not top quality, in fact I requested to have some of my logos remade.
  • I think they have a big backlog of logos to design, the wait time for logo design has been around 1 week, but your names are still listed while the logos are being designed.
  • After your names are accepted you need to agree to their commission rate, at this point you also need to apply your own keywords, descriptions etc. I found this was very time consuming.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

@Atom.com I wish we could get views on the export file, at the very least give us the option to export that field and other fields not currently on there.

@Atom.com This 504 Gateway Time-out is now happening every time. Not only when submitting Plus->Premium upgrades in bulk, but also when accepting/approving the Premiums in bulk (final step). Please fix urgently, as this downtime of the End-Host may affect all users.
Again the 504 Gateway Time-out error when submitting just 87 domains for an upgrade to Premium.

@Atom.com Please fix urgently. I don't want to cause an outage of your servers every time. And this really disrupts my workflow.

That said, the improved AI Logo Generator is pretty slick. It automatically analyzes lander content and creates stunning logos.

Ahh I started getting messages that my domains are priced differently on SEDO vs Atom. Atom used to remove my domains from Sedo for me. Now I have to manually do that and that's inconvenient.

Hopefully they just kick me off the platform so that I don't have to eventually begin delisting premiums after 12-24 months with 0 retail sales.

Would anyone else like to see the Top 10% icon back in your Dashboard domain listings? Not sure why they removed it. I suggested they put it back, but nothing yet.

My guess is that it's no longer relevant, since every buyer now sees something different, highly tailored to their intent and interests.

The Visibility insights have replaced this, giving insights in ranking per individual keyword(s) for your domains.

Honestly, Iโ€™m just getting annoyed that Atom is demanding more and more of my attention, relative to other platforms, without accounting for more and more of my sales. Itโ€™s been a massive increase in overhead while I have comparable results on Afternic and Brandbucket without having to spend hours a day managing a gamified interface that seems designed to increase engagement from sellers -which seems like the wrong metric to be focusing on.

One good thing about it is that for the first time I actually enjoyed using Sedo.:-P

Sometimes. Other times it outputs garbage as usual. It's still "Ai"
Sometimes indeed.

With this new iteration, the success rate has improved significantly, colors are more vivid and the fonts are much better.

On the whole, I like the Ai logo generator but I haven't noticed any significant changes either way (no worse but no better).

I mean, they improved it this week, just one or two days ago.

I've noticed a lot of the images tend to be squares rather than rectangles again since these changes. Something that got reported & fixed back in August, and now seems to have resurfaced:

I've been getting the same:

Also, have you noticed that sometimes it will now generate a square image instead of rectangular? For example:

Show attachment 281124

These square ones are also of noticeably less quality and I've sometimes had to generate 9-10 of them just to get something any good.

One (other) notable improvement is that it now preserves CamelCase. The previous version often rendered domains in all lowercase.

here's a logo it made for me today (name starts with "P")... nothing special here - and actually I have no idea what it's supposed to be. I accepted anyway, cause who has the time

I would say Atom are AI geeks, they just want to include more and more but in end it is too much... we just want sell domains and little AI help is just ok but right now it is too much of everything... also I see they still search themself with all data they have what to show, how to show so I see changes in dashboard all the time.

Hey all, need to sell a domain quite urgently (within 2 weeks).
Atom AI Evaluation 27,5k $ to 30k $ / 3L Premium .net

Would you rather go for โ€œSuper Boostโ€ for enhanced visibility (4 Coins), โ€žNo reserveโ€œ auction, or any other approach? I feel like Atomโ€™s figures in sales reports are increasing but still not that high. Donโ€™t want to go off topic.

@Atom.com Upon finalizing bulk price updates, the interface sometimes (when many domains are selected) redirects from My Domain Listings to the Atom main page (www.atom.com), disrupting my workflow once again.

The "Good Fit for Premium" notice now has a snooze button.

Show attachment 291969

What would be even better is an ignore button that permanently hides old recommendations before the button was pressed, but still shows new recommendations that you haven't seen yet.
