Atom / Atom.com - Marketplace (formerly Squadhelp)

Watch
Hey Folks,

I've just started using squadhelp.com to list some of my brandable. So far I have 76 domains listed, there is no fee to list. I've had some decent action so far in the way of interested buyers but no sales as of yet. I've only been with them for 1 week now.

A bit of a summary review of SquadHelp:

PROS
  • No Listing fee
  • No Logo design fee
  • Ability to submit your names to end users holding naming contests
  • Ability to chat directly or send a message directly to end users.
  • Stats of your marketplace domains are shown in the marketplace dashboard.
  • Their customer service and support has been great, 24hr a day chat.
  • Ability to increase or decrease the list price of your domains or to show a discount. You can decrease or increase the price yourself by $200. If you want to lower more, you can contact support.
  • End users can shortlist your domains before they make a decision on which they want to purchase. The number of shortlists is shown in you marketplace dashboard.
  • When you submit your names you get to set the price you wish to get. Because their commissions are high I recommend listing at a higher price to offset the commission costs.
  • Their landing pages are fairly basic but they work. Because the marketplace is fairly new, I'm sure we will see style improvements in the future.
  • One thing I really like is they accept multiple extensions. I have listed .co and .io along with .com
  • Each seller gets a direct link to their marketplace portfolio, HERES MY PORTFOLIO. It is handy if your trying to p[promote your portfolio through social media.
  • I like that their marketplace doesn't have tens of thousands domain listings like BB. They are fairly strict on the domains they accept to list and so this helps keep the number of domains in the marketplace down and gets your listings more exposure.
CONS
  • Their commissions are very high, depending on the domain name they are usually between 30% and 35%. However, there are no listing fees, no logo design fees, so in the end their commission is very similar to brand buckets.
  • Their logos are not top quality, in fact I requested to have some of my logos remade.
  • I think they have a big backlog of logos to design, the wait time for logo design has been around 1 week, but your names are still listed while the logos are being designed.
  • After your names are accepted you need to agree to their commission rate, at this point you also need to apply your own keywords, descriptions etc. I found this was very time consuming.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Since when it's become issue, that PLUS name listed on afternic need following 10% higher bin rule.

They don't. It's one of the new features that Atom has rolled out recently. It just lets you know if your prices on Atom are different from the ones you have listed on Afternic or Sedo, but it's not an actual requirement unless Premium.

@Atom.com is there a way to list a name on Atom, but unlist or deactivate it (while keeping it in our acct) so no one else can list it? Afternic, Sedo, and SellerHub allow this - it stops "bad actors" from listing your names. I realize only trusted sellers are allowed to list without verification on Atom in the first place which minimizes this issue. Still - errors occur. Adding this would ensure 100% compliance.
@Atom.com are well aware of this feature on Sedo - Atom are refusing to remove their now invisible dead cross-listings from Sedo, which prevent users from listing their domains at Sedo in addition to Atom or instead of Atom - see earlier posts about this at https://www.namepros.com/threads/at...merly-squadhelp.1120686/page-445#post-9523449 where I said this to Atom:

You seem to say you have no control, but even so you must have influence - you can ask Sedo to remove these listings - will you please do that?

Re your claim that removing those listings can only be done by Sedo support, when contacted about that Sedo claim that only Atom can remove them and tell you to go contact Atom.

Are you listening @Atom.com ?

Since they keep not removing those dead, formerly synced listings, there must be a reason, possibly even collusion between Atom and Sedo - Sedo is looking for a buyer and those dead listings may let them claim a much higher number of domains listed there, even though those listings are hidden, dead, and do not appear in searches. Buyer beware.

Does not inspire confidence.

I don't think there is any collision, more likely conflict giving the reason why Sedo cut ties with Atom.

It's not in the interest of the domain owners to continue these dead listings, but arguably the dead listings have benefit to both Atom.com and Sedo, which might explain why both refuse to remove those listings.

@Chris Co mentioned he had several hundred as good fit for premium. Not sure out of how many domains though.

I have about 50 Standard domains in my account. Only one was newly listed as good fit for premium. But they've been on Atom for at least a year, so I'm not surprised it's only one.

Have the domains been recently listed on Atom or is this old inventory? Do they have high Atom scores, a lot of visits, favorites, and/or are they taken in a lot of extensions?

@Atom.com you may want to look into this. At least 3 people have recently commented about getting huge numbers of domains suddenly flagged as good fit for Premium.

For me it's almost half of all the domains I have on Atom. I even spent $10 on buying coins to submit a few of them yesterday, but I've given up after just trying for the third time to select all the domains I wanted to submit and receiving the idiotic error telling me to resubmit them with coins, while I was trying to submit them with coins. It seems the only way you can currently submit domains for review is by individually clicking the button on each domain, which of course refreshes the page everytime and takes you to the top of the domain list. I'm not a masochist, so until Atom gets their shit together and fixes all the major bugs they've caused in their platform, I have better things to do with my time. Doesn't seem too much of a loss anyway just for Atom to lock those domains up, the few recent ones I have received approved offers for have been low maxes and high commissions that I would never sell at. At this point I've heard one too many horror stories of Atom being awkward about freeing up Premium domains even when you give them the 30-day notice period, so those prices/commissions are definitely not worth the headache.

No pattern can be discerned.
A handful of .ai domains are good fit; the rest are .com domains.

Experience shows that less than half of the good fit will be accepted as Premium in the next step.

HNY @Atom.com

On the page where domain upgrades can be approved from Plus to Premium, the commission for domains priced at $4,999 is incorrectly listed as 30% (even after refresh).

According to your adjusted commission structure, the correct rate should be 25% for charm prices just below $5,000. See your help article at https://helpdesk.atom.com/en/articles/4393509-atom-com-marketplace-commission-structure

The exact URL where the incorrect percentage of 30% is shown for a BIN of $4,999:

I'm unable to locate the WLM clear cache button in the new interface. Does anyone know if it has been moved/deleted?

I went through the entire setup. It's at the end.

So does this mean in the future we could possibly see some seller advantages, like Atom paying the renewal fees on premium domains registered with them?

Sounds like we are actually getting some advantages by using Atom as the registrar:

"In 2026, we plan to introduce incentives for domains held with Atom, including reduced commissions, revenue sharing on expired domains, and other programs designed to reward sellers who choose to manage more of their domains with Atom."

Simplifying and Expanding Pricing Flexibility for Premium Listings

https://www.atom.com/blog/simplifying-and-expanding-pricing-flexibility-for-premium-listings/

Weโ€™ve updated how pricing flexibility works for Premium listings on Atom, based on seller feedback and real buyer behavior.

The goal is simple: reduce friction for everyday pricing and expand flexibility for exceptional domains.

First, a quick clarification

This update applies only to Premium listings.
  • Standard and Plus listings remain unchanged and can already be priced freely
  • Premium listings benefit from curation and buyer trust signals, which is why pricing guidelines exist

Whatโ€™s changing

1. Full Pricing Flexibility up to $10,000 for all Premium Domains

All sellers can now price any approved Premium domain up to $10,000, regardless of:
  • approval value
  • membership tier
  • previous percentage-based limits
Below $10K, there are no multipliers, no tier-based caps, and no additional approvals.

2. Expanded pricing flexibility above $10,000

For pricing above $10,000, sellers get more flexibility than before, based upon membership tier:
  • Silver: up to 2ร— approved price
  • Gold: up to 3ร— approved price
  • Platinum: up to 5ร— approved price
This gives sellers of high-quality Premium domains more headroom than before to price exceptional assets.

A note on pricing and sell-through

While this update gives sellers more flexibility, pricing still plays a meaningful role in outcomes.
Listing a domain significantly above its approved value or typical market range may reduce buyer interest and lower sell-through rates. Approval values and pricing guidance remain visible to help sellers make informed decisions.
In short: more flexibility, but the market still decides.

Why we made this change

Below $10,000, we see much less price elasticity:
  • Buyers expect a wider range of pricing
  • Pricing differences are less likely to turn buyers away
  • Sellers benefit from flexibility to test conviction
At the higher end, pricing discipline still matters, but increased multipliers allow sellers with strong approvals to better reflect conviction for truly premium domains.

What this means in practice

  • Everyday Premium pricing is now simpler and frictionless
  • Higher-priced Premium domains have greater upside than before
  • Pricing flexibility is clearer and more consistent
  • Standard and Plus listings remain fully flexible and unaffected
Weโ€™ll continue to simplify our policies and systems to reduce friction, reflect real buyer behavior, and make it easier for sellers to succeed on Atom.

I used to apply discounts on Mondays in just a few moments, with a couple of clicks.

Now, its impossible and I am giving up:

- If I filter only Plus names and want to select ALL to apply a discount, I am asked if I want to apply a discount to ALL (including my Premium names).
- If I choose only one Plus name and want to apply a discount I no longer get the standard click-to-XX percent discount dropdown like in the old, worked well, domain listings.
- In the context menu, on the right side, for one domain chosen, there is no option to change/add a discount). There used to be on the old, worked well, domain listings.
- I cant easily choose which domains I want to exclude from the discounts. In fact, I dont see a way to do this.

I did try to use the Bulk Porfolio Editor. Forget it. It freezes and its extremely frustrating to use, so I have no idea if I can even use it. Plus, to be perfectly honest - I dont trust it given the bugs I've seen around the new domain listings facility. I have already spent a lot of time with all of the settings, descriptions, prices, etc.

In any given day I only want to spend MAX 5-10 minutes downloading my portfolio and on Mondays setting discounts and checking on other settings. I should be on here for hours and getting frustrated and giving up.

I've got 100+ premium names but I am seriously considering removing everything and dealing with whatever black mark my account gets because there is just too much going on with bugs and things that take longer now. There is another side to the transaction -- the user and I didnt sign up for things changing this fast plus not working AND getting to this level of frustration.

edit: add to the fact that we can no longer go back to what worked AND I still cant get "views" on my exports which is really the only statistic I care about (and I bet I am not alone).

On first glance I thought this new measure would go some way to create a more level playing field.

In reality all it does is create even more disparity for the items $10k and over.
