Hey Folks,

I've just started using squadhelp.com to list some of my brandable. So far I have 76 domains listed, there is no fee to list. I've had some decent action so far in the way of interested buyers but no sales as of yet. I've only been with them for 1 week now.

A bit of a summary review of SquadHelp:

PROS
  • No Listing fee
  • No Logo design fee
  • Ability to submit your names to end users holding naming contests
  • Ability to chat directly or send a message directly to end users.
  • Stats of your marketplace domains are shown in the marketplace dashboard.
  • Their customer service and support has been great, 24hr a day chat.
  • Ability to increase or decrease the list price of your domains or to show a discount. You can decrease or increase the price yourself by $200. If you want to lower more, you can contact support.
  • End users can shortlist your domains before they make a decision on which they want to purchase. The number of shortlists is shown in you marketplace dashboard.
  • When you submit your names you get to set the price you wish to get. Because their commissions are high I recommend listing at a higher price to offset the commission costs.
  • Their landing pages are fairly basic but they work. Because the marketplace is fairly new, I'm sure we will see style improvements in the future.
  • One thing I really like is they accept multiple extensions. I have listed .co and .io along with .com
  • Each seller gets a direct link to their marketplace portfolio, HERES MY PORTFOLIO. It is handy if your trying to p[promote your portfolio through social media.
  • I like that their marketplace doesn't have tens of thousands domain listings like BB. They are fairly strict on the domains they accept to list and so this helps keep the number of domains in the marketplace down and gets your listings more exposure.
CONS
  • Their commissions are very high, depending on the domain name they are usually between 30% and 35%. However, there are no listing fees, no logo design fees, so in the end their commission is very similar to brand buckets.
  • Their logos are not top quality, in fact I requested to have some of my logos remade.
  • I think they have a big backlog of logos to design, the wait time for logo design has been around 1 week, but your names are still listed while the logos are being designed.
  • After your names are accepted you need to agree to their commission rate, at this point you also need to apply your own keywords, descriptions etc. I found this was very time consuming.

When entering in an Offer or Counter Price in the negotiation area, there should really be a confirmation or pop-up that shows the amount, just in case you screw up (like typing in 1600 instead of 16000).

Due to the "one click and you're done" format, I'm always feeling extremely paranoid when entering prices in the offer field on Atom as there is no way to cancel or edit the offer afterwards.

I think (and I find this confusing to buyers) they never show in the initial landing page, but when the buyer selects to pay by LTO the terms appear on that page.
Could someone from @Atom please comment on this? Currently the way a down payment is handled is misleading to a potential buyer. In this example scenario is the normal landing page that the buyer sees (top screenshot). It says $791 per month, with zero mention of a down-payment. It's only after they click on the "Pay in Installments" button that they discover there's actually an extra charge (bottom screenshot). In this case it's $1,160 extra. There's no way to measure how many potential buyers are okay with the $791 per month charge but hesitate (or bail) when they realize there's an extra $1,160 charge. To be fair, the landing page should spell out the monthly installment amount AND the down payment amount in the same box -- so the buyer can see the full price without having to click on anything first.

Edit - Just one more thing to add: some people and/or companies look at the price, then take their time to give serious thought about the purchase (which could take hours, days or even weeks). They have no reason to click on "Pay in Installments" since they are not yet ready to purchase, so currently they have no clue about the down payment amount. It's important that they see this amount up front.

When a user declines a premium listing option because they don't like the price/ price range, the price stays at what has been refused.

To manually change each price back is redundant and comes across as an inappropriate flex.

Not sure what that Twitter post means exactly, as with that sale he took a huge loss on his portfolio.

Or is that what he's attempting to say?

A lot of domains have bids by same person(i think probably by the owner), examples:

https://www.atom.com/domain-auctions/Artilan.com
https://www.atom.com/domain-auctions/KeyVerge.com

is it just me who finds it suspicious ? because I contacted support and told me to read about their proxy bidding.

can anyone explain please

In your two examples, they placed multiple bids to see if they could reach the reserve price. One was successful. The other likely stopped at the maximum they were willing to pay.

Reported and waiting for a fix: Uploaded logos on Standard Listing isn't shown.
Same bug today for Standard/Plus listings; also with Atom's AI Generated Logos.

They're immediately synced to www.atom.com/name/ URLs.
They're no longer synced to domains.atom.com/lpd/name/ URLs.

Reported to Support.

I'm also curious about this lately. Creating a relevant lifestyle image for each domain name individually takes a lot of time for relatively big portfolio.

While we are on the subject of retargeting ads, I am also curious about this; It is known that Atom makes advertising investments for premium names and therefore the commission rates are high and that it needs to be notified in advance to bring them back to standard.

However, although names with plus status are also within the scope of retargeting ads, we can turn them into standard mode at any time. I wonder how the advertising expenses made for plus names that are brought back to standard after a while are covered?

@Atom.com

Good question, and sorry about delayed response.

Please note that retargeting ads are just one part of our broader marketing strategy. Premium listings benefit from significantly greater exposure through paid prospecting campaigns that bring high-intent buyers via Google, X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and several partner integrations.

As for Plus listings that are later converted to Standard, it's true that we likely donโ€™t recover our marketing investment in those cases, especially given the extremely low commission for Standard listings.

I've noticed a growing number of quality brandable names rejectedโ€”names that would easily have been approved by the Expert reviewers. In addition, review times have become significantly slower.

Every name with great stats still gets approved -- but a brandable marketplace should be more than approving names with great data, as these names tend to sell on their own without a marketplace.

@Atom, please bring back the Expert review team. The current AI/internal review process doesn't come close in terms of review quality or turnaround time.

How about a hybrid approach? Let the AI auto-approve high-confidence names, but send everything else to Experts. This would preserve efficiency without sacrificing quality.

Thanks
Thanks for your feedback. Transitioning the review process internally was a key step to ensure greater consistency in approval standards, overall fit, and quality.

That said, the current system is actually quite close to what you suggested: a small number of high-confidence names are auto-approved by AI, while those with limited data or low confidence are routed to our internal review team for further evaluation. We're continuously working to improve both accuracy and speed of our review process.

I have been suffering from the same problem lately. The image quality of the logos is extremely low, there is a muddy and terrible visual on the screen. The problem is they heavily compress the JPEG files.

I shared the issue with the designers and support team, but they insist that there is no problem. Either their monitors are broken or their eyes.

@Atom.com Would you consider making logo uploading in PNG format a default option?

Thanks for your feedback. Our images are optimized for fast loading to ensure a high performing buyer experience and to meet performance standards that impact SEO rankings of landing pages, including Googleโ€™s page speed signals. In a few isolated cases, there was a glitch causing lower image quality, but those were quickly resolved.

If you're still seeing any issues, please feel free to share specific examples with our support team and weโ€™ll look into them.

@Atom.com with .ai being quite hot and Darpan tweeting about it often - I wonder if it may make sense to add .ai to the Ai a "Premium Potential Fit ๐Ÿ”ฅ" concept alongside .com. This way, we'd know what .ai names are a great fit - and sellers could get their coins back if submissions were ultimately rejected.
Thanks for the suggestion โ€” makes sense, and itโ€™s something we do plan to add in the near future.

The detailed breakdown does appear once a buyer clicks on the payment plan option, but we understand how the current flow might feel unclear to someone who doesn't click on that option. Thereโ€™s always a balance between keeping the landing page clean and surfacing enough info upfront โ€” but your point is well taken. Weโ€™re exploring ways to improve this experience without adding friction, and will make some updates soon.

With new eyes on premium submissions are you resubmitting names previously rejected via the expert review process ? I think I will be resubmitting a certain amount.

I'm interested to hear the results of your test.

While a few may get through, if the expert reviewers are better than the old method, most should not (not picking on your rejections, this should hold true for all sellers).

I resubmitted 10 I felt were worth another look and have had 2 that were rejected at least twice approved Bizym and Simplisty. Waiting to hear back on the rest.

My view is that the internal review team will be less biased as to the type of name and also more informed as to the style of names that are in demand and any shortfall in the stock of these.

I am still waiting reply from Atom to email Ive sent in March. I posted several inquiries in the last days and still got no reply. @Atom Why you keep ignoring the fact, that there was a misscalculation of my coins? I also provided the screenshots. This ignorance just put you in a postition to be discussed on public forum.

Hi @Atom I have my domains on cloudflare as I want to retain DNS control. How can I point my domains to Atom landers while doing the same? Do you provide any CNAME or A record?

Anyone know how to talk with someone at Atom? I've called their number several times, but it goes to voicemail every time. And when I call a direct number I had it rings 3 times then gets a busy signal. How do we actually talk to a person there?

Thanks.
