Atom / Atom.com - Marketplace (formerly Squadhelp)

Watch
Hey Folks,

I've just started using squadhelp.com to list some of my brandable. So far I have 76 domains listed, there is no fee to list. I've had some decent action so far in the way of interested buyers but no sales as of yet. I've only been with them for 1 week now.

A bit of a summary review of SquadHelp:

PROS
  • No Listing fee
  • No Logo design fee
  • Ability to submit your names to end users holding naming contests
  • Ability to chat directly or send a message directly to end users.
  • Stats of your marketplace domains are shown in the marketplace dashboard.
  • Their customer service and support has been great, 24hr a day chat.
  • Ability to increase or decrease the list price of your domains or to show a discount. You can decrease or increase the price yourself by $200. If you want to lower more, you can contact support.
  • End users can shortlist your domains before they make a decision on which they want to purchase. The number of shortlists is shown in you marketplace dashboard.
  • When you submit your names you get to set the price you wish to get. Because their commissions are high I recommend listing at a higher price to offset the commission costs.
  • Their landing pages are fairly basic but they work. Because the marketplace is fairly new, I'm sure we will see style improvements in the future.
  • One thing I really like is they accept multiple extensions. I have listed .co and .io along with .com
  • Each seller gets a direct link to their marketplace portfolio, HERES MY PORTFOLIO. It is handy if your trying to p[promote your portfolio through social media.
  • I like that their marketplace doesn't have tens of thousands domain listings like BB. They are fairly strict on the domains they accept to list and so this helps keep the number of domains in the marketplace down and gets your listings more exposure.
CONS
  • Their commissions are very high, depending on the domain name they are usually between 30% and 35%. However, there are no listing fees, no logo design fees, so in the end their commission is very similar to brand buckets.
  • Their logos are not top quality, in fact I requested to have some of my logos remade.
  • I think they have a big backlog of logos to design, the wait time for logo design has been around 1 week, but your names are still listed while the logos are being designed.
  • After your names are accepted you need to agree to their commission rate, at this point you also need to apply your own keywords, descriptions etc. I found this was very time consuming.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

yes, that's the appeal.
Thanks for that info. So if the "appeal" wait is 17 weeks, then that means my name is in "nowhere land" if I continue to use the Atom Nameservers?

Also, on the Appeal, will they know the name was already approved for Premium, but I just didn't agree with their suggested pricing?

Just for background info:
I submitted a bunch of names for Premium (which were accepted). I Approved all of them except for 2 names that I didn't agree on their suggested pricing. One name I already Rejected. The other name is awaiting my Approval. BOTH names seem to have disappeared from my WLM and the Atom catalog.
NOTE: you can search on the exact name, and it will appear in the search results. But when you click on the name it does NOT go to the domain lander page -- it goes to the Atom Marketplace. For now I have to point the nameservers for these 2 names somewhere else...

If a name is pending premium consideration or approval at Atom, even though that name used to have a standard lander, it will go to the Atom site rather than a lander while it is pending or under approval review.
I have observed this only with Premium accepted names, where the Seller's decision (accept/reject) is still pending.

Any idea what is "popularity" on this graphic shown in Atom dashboard ?

Doesn't seem to be correlated with views or shortlists?

You rejected the appeal - so now it goes back to Standard listing.
You then "Request Review" and choose the pulldown that says "My name was rejected but I feel it was a great fit". Then you supply information in support of your viewpoint. If you have no info or data that can support your viewpoint, I'd strongly suggest not bothering with a review.

Exactly. If you reject a Premium it reverts back to Standard. Obv if you accept - it goes to Premium. So the only "limbo" status occurs when you let an accepted Premium sit as pending.

So this is the basis for my original question on this matter. I rejected it, but it is still in "limbo" -- it did not revert back to standard.

My original question on this:
Speaking of Premium Review, what is the policy when Atom approves a name for Premium, but the seller thinks the suggested price is too low and rejects it. Does the domain name revert back to a Standard listing in the seller's account? If so, how long does it take to show up in the Standard listings, as well put back in the WLM?

Actually, on second thought, I believe when you reject a name you have to reupload it to Atom. Probably best to use the chat feature to verify with one of their CS reps

You are right. Thanks. I have edited my post now.

FYI: I submitted the name for review, and the domain is in "limbo" (does not show in my WLM or the Atom Catalog). So I guess if you submit a name for review they expect it to be in "limbo" for as long as they take to make a decision...

Summary of events:
1) submitted a name for Premium
2) name was Atom approved but suggested price was too low (imho)
3) I rejected the stage where it says Approve and Publish Instantly or Reject
4) I then used the Request Review, and chose My Accepted Selling Price is too low
5) I saw confirmation that it was submitted for review. The domain name does not show in my WLM or the Atom Catalog (you can search on it, and it will show in the search results, but when you click the name it just goes to the Atom Marketplace page)

Apparently a few of my domains were already on Atom, complete with logos from the old listing, but how exactly do you delete logos?

I have "made inactive" several transferred logos on my listings, but there is one domain that has no option to do this. I click on the logo and and it just expands to full size and there are no "Make Inactive" buttons underneath.

Is there another way to get rid of these unwanted logos from prior listings?

I'd just like to give a big thank you to Atom!! ๐Ÿ‘ I've sold numerous names on Atom that did not sell via any other platform for 7-10 years. One of these names was even denied by BrandBucket.
But upon discovering Atom and getting my names listed there as Premium, they've sold.

Name 1: 10 yr hold time. AN & Sedo listed, BrandBucket denied. No sale. Atom sells in 13 mos.
Name 2: 10 yr hold time. AN, Sedo listed. No sale. Atom sells in 9 mos.
Name 3: 7 yr hold time. AN & Sedo listed since registering. On Brandpa for 6 mos. No sale. Atom sells in 6 mos.

I'm able to sell names via Atom that do not sell elsewhere. They afford me the oppty to get quality brandables in front of buyers. Without Atom, these brandable names are unfindable on marketplaces such as Afternic & Sedo (who are not built to sell brandable names). Atom works.
And please do not sell out to GoDaddy. Find another way to exit. Please ๐Ÿ™

If you're interested you can see the actual names I've sold on my X acct.

Its been exactly over 1 week now and I have yet not received the money in my bank account.

I have been using Atom for many years now and I withdraw using Wise.

Normally, I receive payment within a few minutes but sometimes in the past due to weekends or bank holidays it has taken max 3-4 days and that too were rare incidents.

But this is the first time it has crossed 7 days, and money has still not hit my bank.

I have checked with my bank, they say nothing is on hold. (Obviously, no receiving bank has any issues)

I checked with Wise and they have asked me to provide the following info: -

Its been over 21 hours since I have requested Atom to provide me the above details and I recd the following mail from them:-

So far no further response and I am still waiting.

My question to other sellers on Atom is, have they ever experienced such delays if withdrawing from Atom via Wise?

If yes, how were they able to resolve it?

Does it show as pending review in the premium section when you change the filter to "pending review"?

It shows with the Rejected status (not with Pending Review Status). But if I try to request a review again a pop up says itโ€™s already submitted for review

Hi @Atom.com

When manually entering a discount of 690 on a price of 4599, the system rejects the input with a message indicating that discounts cannot exceed 15%. In contrast, applying a 15% discount via the "Add Discounts" method results in acceptance with the same amount of 690โ€”thanks to the rounding mechanism that brings the discount to 690.

Could you consider incorporating a small tolerance for minor discrepancies in the manual method? Allowing a few dollarsโ€™ variation would make the dashboard feel progressively more refined and user-friendly.

This probably sounds obvious, but have you checked your payment settings to make sure no one gained access to your account and changed them?

Other than that, just wait for Atom billing to determine if it's been refused or held/delayed for some reason.

Just a note that if anyone else runs into this issue of "a resident logo from a prior listing" on your Atom lander, you cannot delete it and you need to contact Atom support for them to do it.

I've had a couple of payments to Wise from Atom and they both appeared essentially instantly, a few seconds. Hope you get it straightened out.

Hi @Atom.com

Can you please explain the concept of 'shortlisting' again? Does this mean more than 200 end users/people visited the domain landing page and actually clicked the shortlisting button(โค๏ธ) then none of them ever showed up again? I have hundreds of domains with hundreds of shortlists.

Thank you
