Unstoppable Domains โ€” Expired Auctions

Atom / Atom.com - Marketplace (formerly Squadhelp)

Hey Folks,

I've just started using squadhelp.com to list some of my brandable. So far I have 76 domains listed, there is no fee to list. I've had some decent action so far in the way of interested buyers but no sales as of yet. I've only been with them for 1 week now.

A bit of a summary review of SquadHelp:

PROS
  • No Listing fee
  • No Logo design fee
  • Ability to submit your names to end users holding naming contests
  • Ability to chat directly or send a message directly to end users.
  • Stats of your marketplace domains are shown in the marketplace dashboard.
  • Their customer service and support has been great, 24hr a day chat.
  • Ability to increase or decrease the list price of your domains or to show a discount. You can decrease or increase the price yourself by $200. If you want to lower more, you can contact support.
  • End users can shortlist your domains before they make a decision on which they want to purchase. The number of shortlists is shown in you marketplace dashboard.
  • When you submit your names you get to set the price you wish to get. Because their commissions are high I recommend listing at a higher price to offset the commission costs.
  • Their landing pages are fairly basic but they work. Because the marketplace is fairly new, I'm sure we will see style improvements in the future.
  • One thing I really like is they accept multiple extensions. I have listed .co and .io along with .com
  • Each seller gets a direct link to their marketplace portfolio, HERES MY PORTFOLIO. It is handy if your trying to p[promote your portfolio through social media.
  • I like that their marketplace doesn't have tens of thousands domain listings like BB. They are fairly strict on the domains they accept to list and so this helps keep the number of domains in the marketplace down and gets your listings more exposure.
CONS
  • Their commissions are very high, depending on the domain name they are usually between 30% and 35%. However, there are no listing fees, no logo design fees, so in the end their commission is very similar to brand buckets.
  • Their logos are not top quality, in fact I requested to have some of my logos remade.
  • I think they have a big backlog of logos to design, the wait time for logo design has been around 1 week, but your names are still listed while the logos are being designed.
  • After your names are accepted you need to agree to their commission rate, at this point you also need to apply your own keywords, descriptions etc. I found this was very time consuming.

ChatGPT Plus image generation creates better logos.

@Atom.com any plan to allow verified sellers to add their own logos?

We are allowed to upload our own images

Is that for premium names @NameGroove?

For Standard Listed domains, Iโ€™ve noticed that uploaded logos are now visible on the Atom search page.

I see the ability to upload images on both Premium and Standard. If you are an Atom member, you should see it too.

I donโ€™t have that option, and I contacted support. They responded with this:
There's no longer an option to upload your own logos for premium domains; however, you can generate a new image or request a redesign by a designer if you're not happy with the logo made for your domain.

I got the notice, as others have, that one of my Atom Premium names now has Domain Talk, a short (few minute) audio promotion of the name.
I had the same message this morning. Domain Talk had been added to one of my premium names (Distraction.ai).

Like Bob, initially I wasn't keen on the idea, that was until I heard it. To me it sounded natural, and interesting.

I genuinely like the idea, but lets see if anyone can be bothered to press it after viewing several domains on the platform.

Time will tell I guess..

Domain Appraisal is not showing the extensions registered.

It also doesn't show an appraisal for many unregistered names. These 2 bugs have been around for quite some time. I told chat about it - but never fixed

How do I specify the number of days for a "sale" (discounted price)? And also how to specify what should happen at the end of the sale (either start a new countdown, or end the sale completely)

When I add the discount, it crosses out the BIN price, and shows the discounted price. It also says Sale ends in "X" Days -- and it counts down daily. But then it seems to start the countdown again for another 6 days.

I want to do the following:
1) specify the initial number of days for the sale (example instead of 6 days, start at 3 days)
2) choose what to do at the end of the sale - Sale Ends, or start the countdown again

Example with a "Sale" price

Sales last until Monday, regardless of the day you set it. Set the discount on Saturday, it lasts 2 days. Set the discount on Monday it lasts 7.

Thank you -- that's great to know! Does the sale start over again? It seemed like my sales would just start over again with a new countdown.

Nope. You have to add the discount again, each week (if you want a discount the following week). I don't like the Monday reset personally. It should be a 7 day discount from the date you add the discount. Many Atom sellers aren't aware of this weird policy and set discounts on other days only to show a sale for a day or two. @Atom.com perhaps a 7 day period for all discounts can be enabled?

PSA >:(

I just bought a name from Atom Auctions that was NOT premium. Buyers are unable to sort by Premium in Atom Auctions and as such, I mistakenly bought a STANDARD listing. I would've never bought this name had there been a filter function to identify which names are premium and which are standard. I typed the name into the URL and it showed on Atom so I thought, mistakenly, it was Premium. It's my fault for not checking more carefully - so this public service announcement is meant for everyone else - make sure to DOUBLE CHECK before buying names at Atom Auctions if you want them to be Premium. Many are not - and @Atom.com does not allow you to filter away the ones that aren't.

Hopefully they can add this functionality so others don't waste money buying standard names when they intended to buy Premium. For clarity - this feature exists within the Wholesale marketplace so it's not like they can't easily toggle it on for Auctions.

Just wondering why you would care? You obviously liked the domain enough to buy it.

And it's not like it's a quality issue, as a lot of people keep their domains at Standard so they can personally negotiate with buyers (me) or to get a lower commission rate.

Personally, I'll pay more if it's Premium. Now that Atom stopped including in their appraisal tool whether or not a domain was previously rejected, I think of all Standard domains as either having been rejected or so bad they would never be approved. Recently bought 2 domains with scores of 9+. Found out they had been previously rejected, and Atom rejected them again. Fortunately, I didn't pay much for them.

I bought it - because I thought it was curated and Premium. Premium listings get access to many more features and views by many more buyers than Standard listings do. Brandables need a brandable marketplace to sell. As Standard, they will likely just sit. Brandable standard names get very little views at Atom.

I'm a bit surprised I have to explain the benefits of acquiring a Premium name vs a rejected Standard one to a fellow Atom seller. But I suppose people use Atom for different reasons.

Exactly. Clearly since this name was in Atom Auctions, it was already rejected. I would never have bought a rejected name (had I known). Atom needs to fix this.

Hey guys, do you see any correlation between 'strong buyer interest'and sales?
Any estimated STR or same as shortlists?
