Atom / Atom.com - Marketplace (formerly Squadhelp)

Hey Folks,

I've just started using squadhelp.com to list some of my brandable. So far I have 76 domains listed, there is no fee to list. I've had some decent action so far in the way of interested buyers but no sales as of yet. I've only been with them for 1 week now.

A bit of a summary review of SquadHelp:

PROS
  • No Listing fee
  • No Logo design fee
  • Ability to submit your names to end users holding naming contests
  • Ability to chat directly or send a message directly to end users.
  • Stats of your marketplace domains are shown in the marketplace dashboard.
  • Their customer service and support has been great, 24hr a day chat.
  • Ability to increase or decrease the list price of your domains or to show a discount. You can decrease or increase the price yourself by $200. If you want to lower more, you can contact support.
  • End users can shortlist your domains before they make a decision on which they want to purchase. The number of shortlists is shown in you marketplace dashboard.
  • When you submit your names you get to set the price you wish to get. Because their commissions are high I recommend listing at a higher price to offset the commission costs.
  • Their landing pages are fairly basic but they work. Because the marketplace is fairly new, I'm sure we will see style improvements in the future.
  • One thing I really like is they accept multiple extensions. I have listed .co and .io along with .com
  • Each seller gets a direct link to their marketplace portfolio, HERES MY PORTFOLIO. It is handy if your trying to p[promote your portfolio through social media.
  • I like that their marketplace doesn't have tens of thousands domain listings like BB. They are fairly strict on the domains they accept to list and so this helps keep the number of domains in the marketplace down and gets your listings more exposure.
CONS
  • Their commissions are very high, depending on the domain name they are usually between 30% and 35%. However, there are no listing fees, no logo design fees, so in the end their commission is very similar to brand buckets.
  • Their logos are not top quality, in fact I requested to have some of my logos remade.
  • I think they have a big backlog of logos to design, the wait time for logo design has been around 1 week, but your names are still listed while the logos are being designed.
  • After your names are accepted you need to agree to their commission rate, at this point you also need to apply your own keywords, descriptions etc. I found this was very time consuming.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

All night with these images... ugh. Ai isn't even putting the domain name on them :xf.rolleyes:

Why bother? Just list your domains with correct CamelCase and (if needed) a proper description, then use your valuable time in more productive ways.

These images without names are certainly making me rethink how to spend my time :banghead:

They added it to one of my names as well... same voice and style. It'll be interesting to see if it helps buyers make informed purchases (and thus lifts STR)

Hey, all you Atom experts, i'm new on Atom. Do we get any stats about the Plus listings or they must point to Atom nameservers?

'Domain Talk' is getting better now that it's under 1m, I still think shorter (around 30 seconds) is better.

One thing about the UI:

I keep wanting to click the mic icon to play it, so might help to make that button play/stop the talk in addition to the play button.

I really have to turn up the volume to hear it.

In a scenario where a domain owner has meticulously crafted their lander content to avoid UDRP disputes, how does the unpredictable nature of AI-generated audio content create new liability risks?

Nope mine been stuck at 35% for years. Today it is 25%. Gotta be tanking due to .now additions and selling .coms for cheap at auction.

Are we all getting these high scores now?

How do you have scores that high? Mine was around 42% and after repricing and boosting around 46%. What's your portfolio size, and do you edit the keywords, descriptions, etc. of your listings? Boosting?

Agreed. @Atom.com It MUST be allowed to remove this Audio on a name by name (case by case) basis. For the name it is active on, the email stated I could contact them to have it removed). There is no issue with that name - but I'd definitely opt out all my minimum landers which are on all my Sapphire dictionary words. Dictionary words do not need explanation (imho)

I apologize about the delayed response. The portfolio popularity is based upon several factors (number of shortlists is one of them). Recency also plays a significant role. For example, if you received many of the shortlists 2 months ago, they do not carry as much weight as the shortlists that you might have received in last week for example. The absolute number of shortlists alone is also not a reliable indicator. For example, if a name has 5 shortlists after 500 landing page views - clearly it is not as popular as a name with 2 shortlists after 20 views. There are also several other factors that play a role in calculating the overall popularity ranking.

There are few ways to improve popularity of your names (or portfolio):

https://helpdesk.squadhelp.com/en/a...sell-through-rate-of-your-marketplace-domains

One of the most important aspects is to ensure that the domain is properly classified with proper root words, industries etc so that it is picked up by our AI technology and is automatically recommended to relevant buyers. More often a domain is recommended, it will give us additional signals that may lead to better popularity.

Participating in contests or allowing other creatives to submit your names to contests can also help. When a name is liked by a contest holder, it typically helps with the popularity ranking of the name.

There can also be a negative impact on popularity if our algorithm detects that someone is attempting to "influence" the popularity in ways that are not allowed.

We continue to fine tune the popularity algorithm based upon our ongoing learnings.

@Atom.com - can you please let us know if popularity rankings are solely for Premium names (or if they include Sapphire &/or Plus)?

Unless/until @Atom.com shows stats showing Popularity correlates with STR I wouldn't worry about it. Almost all of the dashboard stats they show us are gamified stats. Like all social media, they make us participate in an addicted fashion to engage - but at the end of the day, all the matters is STR. I optimize my portfolio towards the stats they have shown to correlate with STR

I'm putting together a blog post showing these correlations, will share once approved by NP

All comes down to your sales stats at the end. The only thing matters how many domains they sell, period. Personally I see a huge turnaround when it comes to names bought via Atom/Afternic. Since the rebrand I checked my last 14 transactions and 9! of them were purchased via Atom ( installments included). That is 64% which is really good, I remember previously it was 70%+ in favor of Afternic.

Thanks for the info. Have you sold any Plus listings or only Premium? Any other guys with Plus sales?

i've also asked @Atom.com for this ability long ago. I hope they add someday. Some of these columns are worthless and clog up my screen
Weโ€™re currently working on a complete redesign of the listings page that will offer significantly more flexibility and make it much easier to manage your portfolio. Customizing columns and streamlining the interface is definitely part of that vision. Thanks for your patienceโ€”we expect to roll it out in the next few weeks.

not sure if I this is what you looking for: I have moved my alt extensions to Plus in the end of January ( mainly due to Sapphire eligibility) . Still no sales there unfortunately, but it might be still too early to draw down conclusions. But certainly not promoted in the same way as Premium, I can see it from the shortlists.

A few suggestions:

1. You offer several choices for your daily emails of domains added to the Wholesale Marketplace. Add another one: Premium only.

2. In the Wholesale Marketplace, allow us to filter by the domain score. You do it in the auctions.

3. Randomize the domain results in the Wholesale Marketplace when you first enter it and don't select any filters. (If I see linked biz one more time, I may go crazy. Does everyone see the same domain?)

4. Put if the domain was previously rejected back in your domain appraisal tool.

5. Could we get at least a really brief explanation for why a domain is rejected? It could help people submit better names and speed up your work. (I just had 2 9+ score domains rejected. They're both 5 letters and .com.)

I previously gave some of the suggestions to your support team, who passed them on. It's been awhile, so thought I'd mention them here.

@Atom.com
Thank you for your feedbackโ€”weโ€™ve shared these suggestions with our product team.

Regarding #4, we removed the โ€œpreviously rejectedโ€ label based on feedback from several sellers who felt that displaying this information could negatively impact the perceived value of their domains. At this time, we donโ€™t plan to reintroduce it.

As for #5, we understand where you are coming from. However, given the high volume of submissions we process daily, providing individual explanations would significantly slow down review times and require substantial resources. That said, weโ€™re always exploring ways to improve transparency and guidance, and your suggestion is appreciated.

I have an issue when I search for something on the ATOM website, I cannot go to the other pages of the search results, it seems stuck, I click on 2.3 page etc.
When I use incognito it works, but not on the normal Chrome browser, it works on Mozilla as well. Has Anyone had the same problem?
I chatted with ATOM, they suggested two three possible solutions (clean cache etc), nothing worked..
Sometimes even the search function seems completely stuck or takes ages to work..
Thanks for sharing your feedback. Our team hasnโ€™t been able to reproduce the issue so far, but based on what you described, itโ€™s likely related to old cached files or a browser extension conflict. Clearing your browser cache usually resolves this, but we understand it hasnโ€™t worked in your case. Weโ€™ll continue to investigate and keep an eye out for any similar reports, but at this point, it appears to be a localized issue.
