Atom / Atom.com - Marketplace (formerly Squadhelp)

Hey Folks,

I've just started using squadhelp.com to list some of my brandable. So far I have 76 domains listed, there is no fee to list. I've had some decent action so far in the way of interested buyers but no sales as of yet. I've only been with them for 1 week now.

A bit of a summary review of SquadHelp:

PROS
  • No Listing fee
  • No Logo design fee
  • Ability to submit your names to end users holding naming contests
  • Ability to chat directly or send a message directly to end users.
  • Stats of your marketplace domains are shown in the marketplace dashboard.
  • Their customer service and support has been great, 24hr a day chat.
  • Ability to increase or decrease the list price of your domains or to show a discount. You can decrease or increase the price yourself by $200. If you want to lower more, you can contact support.
  • End users can shortlist your domains before they make a decision on which they want to purchase. The number of shortlists is shown in you marketplace dashboard.
  • When you submit your names you get to set the price you wish to get. Because their commissions are high I recommend listing at a higher price to offset the commission costs.
  • Their landing pages are fairly basic but they work. Because the marketplace is fairly new, I'm sure we will see style improvements in the future.
  • One thing I really like is they accept multiple extensions. I have listed .co and .io along with .com
  • Each seller gets a direct link to their marketplace portfolio, HERES MY PORTFOLIO. It is handy if your trying to p[promote your portfolio through social media.
  • I like that their marketplace doesn't have tens of thousands domain listings like BB. They are fairly strict on the domains they accept to list and so this helps keep the number of domains in the marketplace down and gets your listings more exposure.
CONS
  • Their commissions are very high, depending on the domain name they are usually between 30% and 35%. However, there are no listing fees, no logo design fees, so in the end their commission is very similar to brand buckets.
  • Their logos are not top quality, in fact I requested to have some of my logos remade.
  • I think they have a big backlog of logos to design, the wait time for logo design has been around 1 week, but your names are still listed while the logos are being designed.
  • After your names are accepted you need to agree to their commission rate, at this point you also need to apply your own keywords, descriptions etc. I found this was very time consuming.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

On WLM sites there's a filter menu on the left side, where you can filter by Category, Extension, Price Range, and more.

The slider element's width is inconsistent between browsers. In Firefox it shows fine. But in Chrome, its narrow rendering creates a usability issue, making it difficult to select and drag. The slider's width should be standardized across browsers for consistent user experience. Also, the visual cues for scrollable content in Chrome are inadequate, preventing users from recognizing the availability of additional categories below the visible section.

There is also a bug when you use AI to create a logo. It adds an extra letter to the name. Hopefully it doesn't happen often.
I created 100 logos and it happened three times.

I also haven't solved the issue with the non clickable Atom pages on Chrome. I can't move to the next pages when I click page 2, 3 etc.

Ita not cache related at least for me. It works on Mozilla and my Android phone, but not on my laptop when I use Chrome. That could also affect customers that are Chrome users and won't be able to view any pages after the first page on their laptop.

What percentage of .coms you have roughly?
I'm still not sure whether the Popularity metric is calculated for only Premium listings, or for the total portfolio including Standard and Plus listings.

Currently 277 out of 280 are .com Premium listings.

About 3,000 Plus listings are .com

@Atom.com Are the "Portfolio Popularity" stats for Premium only? Or Premium and Sapphire? Or Premium, Sapphire, Plus, and Standard?

Hi everyone and @Atom.com ,
I am currently comparing platform brokerage experiences through diverse platforms, and I have noticed something really useful on Atom's Offer Center, their "Recent activity" log.

Can anyone confirm if absolutely all movements/interactions (Atom w/seller, Atom w/buyer) are automatically shown there, in real time?

If so, that's a great, solid point in favor of Atom, imo. I love transparency!

All those stats are interesting, but if there are no sales, they mean nothing ๐Ÿ˜‚

You might think Afternic is terrible, but they deliver from time to time..

Anyway, I have been on Atom since January. I have only 55 Premium, I could have had 200, but 30% comission is just too high. All the rest names are Plus.
Don't know if I can draw any conclusions with a few Premium and don't know how effectively Plus are being promoted or shown to the buyers.

Has anyone had Atom Plus sales or is it all about the Premium ones?

Atom has set my new bin as the higher limit after I dropped the price during the .com birthday sale.

Ex: Price was 29,999, drop to $14,888. Now $14,888 is the new limit.
Price issue has been resolved by Atom. Thanks to Scott

Are we all getting these high scores now?

Mines have been stuck around 39% ever since I moved domains over almost 6 months ago, despite my other metrics being above average, so I thought it was a broken metric. I also have WS bought names with very high view & shortlist count, still didn't move it.

Can we list Standard Plus domains at Afternic?

I'm a newbie in terms of listing at Atom. I signed up around mid February, and have roughly 1,600 names listed on their platform. I'm not sure how often those stats are updated, but I can say mine have been ZERO since joining. NOTE: all of my names are "Standard" -- so maybe those stats do not include "Standard" listings?

Question for those using their White Label Marketplace (WLM): do you promote your own listings, or promote entire Atom catalog? If entire catalog, do you see additional revenue from a percentage of the Atom commission for a sale from someone else's portfolio?

You can do whatever you want with Standard. You can also list Plus at Afternic - but you only get retargeting if you point NS to Atom. I would assume you also get brokerage help if you are Plus (regardless of where NS are pointed).

Thanks, it makes sense that Standard are not included in the Portfolio Popularity stats. I do wonder if Sapphire is included however. Hopefully @Atom.com will chime in at some point

Are all those names using Atom Name Servers?
