Unstoppable Domains โ€” Expired Auctions

Atom / Atom.com - Marketplace (formerly Squadhelp)

Watch
Hey Folks,

I've just started using squadhelp.com to list some of my brandable. So far I have 76 domains listed, there is no fee to list. I've had some decent action so far in the way of interested buyers but no sales as of yet. I've only been with them for 1 week now.

A bit of a summary review of SquadHelp:

PROS
  • No Listing fee
  • No Logo design fee
  • Ability to submit your names to end users holding naming contests
  • Ability to chat directly or send a message directly to end users.
  • Stats of your marketplace domains are shown in the marketplace dashboard.
  • Their customer service and support has been great, 24hr a day chat.
  • Ability to increase or decrease the list price of your domains or to show a discount. You can decrease or increase the price yourself by $200. If you want to lower more, you can contact support.
  • End users can shortlist your domains before they make a decision on which they want to purchase. The number of shortlists is shown in you marketplace dashboard.
  • When you submit your names you get to set the price you wish to get. Because their commissions are high I recommend listing at a higher price to offset the commission costs.
  • Their landing pages are fairly basic but they work. Because the marketplace is fairly new, I'm sure we will see style improvements in the future.
  • One thing I really like is they accept multiple extensions. I have listed .co and .io along with .com
  • Each seller gets a direct link to their marketplace portfolio, HERES MY PORTFOLIO. It is handy if your trying to p[promote your portfolio through social media.
  • I like that their marketplace doesn't have tens of thousands domain listings like BB. They are fairly strict on the domains they accept to list and so this helps keep the number of domains in the marketplace down and gets your listings more exposure.
CONS
  • Their commissions are very high, depending on the domain name they are usually between 30% and 35%. However, there are no listing fees, no logo design fees, so in the end their commission is very similar to brand buckets.
  • Their logos are not top quality, in fact I requested to have some of my logos remade.
  • I think they have a big backlog of logos to design, the wait time for logo design has been around 1 week, but your names are still listed while the logos are being designed.
  • After your names are accepted you need to agree to their commission rate, at this point you also need to apply your own keywords, descriptions etc. I found this was very time consuming.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
AfternicAfternic
Basic searches do not show relevant names and hide extremely relevant high quality names. Not an easy task to fix search, but it still needs to be done.

Which marketplace does the best job with search results (in your opinion)?

Atom is the only one I'm aware of who is even attempting it. So they win by default.

Thanks, one thing that may attract people to brandables is the lower acquisition cost as there is less competition for these names amongst investors. Can I ask if you had the brandables on a premium Brandable marketplace ?

I've had them all over the place through the years - GoDaddy, Dan, Sedo, Afternic and now Atom. I think the two sales took place on GoDaddy and Dan, and that's it.

To me, brandables are just renewal hogs and I'm sending them out to slaughter next year.

Until we hear correlation, I would think time is better spent on improving name quality rather than staring at stats like these.

But even if there is some correlation, what use is there in staring at raw data (for hours on end) that you have absolutely no control over? Like you said, spend your time on things you do control, like the quality of your portfolio, both by purchasing better domains and getting rid of the deadwood.

This whole gamification of marketplaces is right up there with using a Ouija board or crystal ball to select names.

I was getting more direct visits than platform visits, which is crazy. What's the median sales level y'all are getting?

I do not agree here. You absolutely have not clue if something is not deadwood. Yes some names stinks but overal the price is the factor that decide if someone buy it or not.

For example i love some aged domains that I would use for my project but rather that spending 10000USD I invent new name for it. But if the price is 100USD I would think about buy.
And for some people thinking about buy matter in more expensive price range.

Other factor is visibility of domain to right people.

So maybe you are just unlucky with promotion or price setting.

The key here is that if they prove bad faith (and displaying an ad for the company or using a similar logo is the clearest path) then you stand a chance to lose the domain. It's not about one domain TLD trumping another, it's in trying to show you are actively targeting a company.

Even sending a For Sale email to a company can lose you a domain in a UDRP, as that's what it's designed for, to allow corporations to steal digital properties from domain investors, so tread lightly.

Now you didn't do anything wrong here, but I would definitely start building some evidence (date of logo, submission date, etc.) that proves this, just in case the company tries to scam.
Thank you.

I noticed today a tag called 'Afternic Authorized' which, apparently, allows the user to list domains to Afternic? (still not sure, someone correct me if I'm wrong).

If that's the case, what will happen if:

-a purchased domain through Atom's marketplace, which is already added to Afternic via the seller (seller = the previous owner) and set to Fast Transfer

-gets *pushed* to the same registrar (this is very important as, afaik, the domain will not lose the Fast Transfer status)

-the seller does not remove the domain from Afternic

-the domain gets a sale via Afternic's FT which results in the previous owner receiving the money

Is there a possibility of the above happening? and, if yes, do you know if there is any protection against it?

Thanks

This is not true at all, and has been proven many times over. Evidence-based studies have shown that domains have almost no price resistance once you get down to a certain number, let's say $2000.

We're not selling hot dogs here, and if a company wants your domain, and if they'll buy it for $100 then they'll likely buy it for $2000. And if no one wants to buy your name, then no one will want to buy it, even for $100.

Atom has opportunity to reach millions of buyers at ChatGPT when they launch the integration to let buyers search for domains at ChatGPT. Their appraisal tool can be called using @Atom.com

This could help my STR, great for other TLDs.

Exact-match SLDs now have their own top section, featuring Premium, Plus, and Standard listings.

My Strong Buyer Interest stats have been reset on the dashboard:

Wonder if this is to remove all the previous bot traffic included in the data.

Hopefully this now means we'll see only genuine repeat visitors in this section, making it much more useful than it was.

My strong buyer interest stats have also changed. I think you may be right that it may have been some bot traffic. They have been implementing the new stat tracker and the stats have been all over the place. It seems more consistent the last two days.

While i was checking some of my domains that listed at atom how it appears on google search results, I noticed that premium domains are indexed properly & mentioned clearly that the domain is for sale and part of explanation about domain & why good it is as below first two screenshots example .

You will see on the second two screenshots how the standard plus NOT INDEXED PROPERLY !!
With NO info pointing that domains for sale or any simple explanation !!!
( NO INFOTMATION AVAILABLE FOR THIS PAGE ) !!

The question is : Does atom give preference for premium domains over others in term of domains indexing ?? @Atom.com

One of the reasons i liked to list at atom plus is domains to be indexed & visible and exposed on google results that it is FOR SALE ! similar to premiums .

Guys please check and confirm is this accidently happening with me or others have the same issue ??
Frankly what i saw is something disappointing !! ๐Ÿ˜ž

--------------------------

- A premium domain was approved and listed on on 19 july 2025 , So it is not from long time !
- A premium domain was approved and listed on on 8 june 2025 , also not from long time !

The premium domain names are not properly concealed. They are still visible in the URL string shown in the screenshots.

I think it just depends on Google and how popular the page is.

Some of my premium domains have awful snippets in the search results. For example:

"abc.com is available for sale on Atom. Buy this premium domain name and get a free logo."

As if a free logo is going to be the deciding factor to buy the domain :xf.grin:

One other thing re logos @Atom.com - the Word Part feature never works for CAPS. The Ai needs retraining in this regard. If I type two or three words, where the first letter of each word is in CAPS, the Ai ignores it. Can you please make a priority to fix?
