This is a stolen domain.
Great catch why would someone ...sell a 3 letter domain without a broker :D LOL :D
Nice catch, Theo.
This guy has done some damage, and still holds 988.com hostage. Its owner is working towards recovering it. Can't share all the info publicly at this time.
Read this thread where he tried to con everyone about a supposed acquisition of 988.com, he was trying to figure out how to regain control of the domain.
I remember this thread and felt bad for this guy..Turned out we are fools :D
What a catch?
Feeling sad for this guy?:p
Its for sale on ebay now:
Thanks. The seller is an Algerian who has also stolen BNN.com. Not sure why the mods removed my previous post.
Guy on eBay says it’s not stolen - recovered and then he bought it from the owner
Complete lie and fake WHOIS. He has been banned on several marketplaces including Escrow.com.
He told me to talk to godaddy - they know. I just want to see what he going to say next
The Sarasota FL address in the current Whois is actually a freight forwarder! Buyer Beware!
& Ebay says item location: UAE
I was going to buy it for 11,500 a month ago. I figured out it was a stolen domain but by that time it was already in escrow.
Escrow, couldn't approve the funds i sent because they told me that the seller was suspicious and the transaction was canceled by escrow.
Initially he wanted to use dn.com escrow. No wonder he didn't want to use escrow.com
And now the ebay thread states he wants to use armor payments. Looks like he got banned from using dn.com escrow as well.
This is indeed a stolen domain.
DNWon - Yep. The guy is an Algerian living in Dubai. BNN .com is stolen and linked to [email protected]. He hijacked the administrative email domain, but left the WHOIS info intact.
Who was it stolen from? Looks like it has been sold since then?
It's an orphan domain, hasn't been sold. The thief is the banned OP in this thread.
How do these people steal a domain ?
It is usually precipitated by a breach of your email account!
Read this recent thread, if you have a few hours and enlighten yourself on how something like a domain theft is usually perpetrated. It's quite lengthy but chock full of excellent advice and an eye opening glimpse into the underbelly of the domain industry and it's dirty little secrets! Welcome to NamePros too! @robinchistle
@FlippaDomains this domain is auctioning on your web page right now
