Hi guys,

Will i know in 5 hours if i am the unique pre-register for one X.asia domain? What i mean is : will i see, in 5 hours, "YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE YOU HAVE THE DOMAIN" instead of the pending message in goddady if i am alone on the domain pre-register? Or will i have to wait ? (i know that if i am not alone i will have to wait the auction...)

Thx all and good luck for your domains

well if it is 100, there gonna be a chance that some of them will be sent to auction, but there will also be a chance that some of them will not go to auction

hi ManuEva,
You would have to wait till the end of the landrush period. So i guess you'll only know if you have gotten your name or have to bid for it earliest by 13th March or probably a little later.

ya, u will need to wait until landrush stage ends, as registry needs to confirm there are no same submission. once landrush period ends and you are the only who submitted for that name, then you can get that name.

hi all . I have just registered my domain name at this registrar. They have a great offer at the moment with .Asia domain names at just $4.99 a year .

http://www.domainmonster.com/dotasia-domains/

Code = ASIALA7H4F

I've never heard of them - are the reputable? Do they refund if you don't' get it? Seems too good to be true.

DotAsia have determined that if more than one person applies for the same domain, an auction will be held. As a result, the fee shown in your basket is non-refundable. You will be notified soon after 12th March 2008 in the event of an auction. Of course, if you're the only applicant on the 12th March 2008, then the domain is yours!

for those who speculated on this one, doesn't the three week wait kill you? and to think that most of the domains will go to auction.. good luck my friends

"A hero need not speak. When he is gone, the world will speak for him. ~ Halo 3"

When did the world change so much that people start quoting cartoon superheros from computer games as 'pearls of wisdom'?

.ASIA names at $4.99 = a desperate registry trying to push up numbers in the early days.. will just end up being traded between domainers in most cases..... to those who have pre-booked - Given the take-up I would expect that you will be lucky in 9/10 cases... I just hope they are worth the premium (picked well, there should still be a decent profit in them)

Good luck.

Many registrars are offering reduced prices until the 20th due to the Asia registry own policies.

If you look at the list of domains applied during sunrise, which was over 30,000 domains, most of them seem to be end users. This tld could get alot of usage in Asian countries which have many internet users especially India, China, Japan. I don't think this is a case of reseller interest like LLLL.com etc...

Btw, here is the list of domains applied for during Sunrise http://www.registry.asia/info/DotAsia-DomainsAppliedFor--2008-02-08.txt

I noticed some very funny names in that list,
bettyboop.asia
bilbobaggins.asia hahahahahahahahaha
carrera.asia LOL

Hello Master Chief,

I think it is a pearl of wisdom, being a poet and not a .mobi 'pushing' fruitcake like the person who dissed you, I understand

Take care from Josh
