Article submission?

When you all refer to article submission do you mean articles you have written for your content sites then you submit them to be published elsewhere - then you get links back from them?

Can anyone share a list where to submit them or how and tell me if you write the content or ...?

I suggest you first submit your articles in your own site: and after they get indexed by Google and other SEs, you can then start to submi those articles to only few top article directories like these:

Article directories get you backlinks by having your links in the resource section below the article. You can start it with ezinearticles.com firstly and then go for other directories if you get accepted here once.

There are many lists of article directories, but to start off, the list given above by angilina would be good enough. And try not to have the same article in your site and the article directory, rather have the article rotated or rewritten before submitting it into article directories.

Agreed that you need to wait till the article gets indexed in your website, but still the same article should not be copied into the article directories. If the same article is submitted, the issue of copied content comes out there.
Its always better if you rotate the article or rewrite it. The article copied from your website can sometimes degrade the value of your website if the article directory is authoritive and holds more value than your website, in search engines.
