After all the leftist hyperbole intent on portraying America as some evil demigog and terrorists as "freedom fighters", perhaps two voices that have lived firsthand the horrors of the dogs of the mid east, and are speaking out.

Hopefully the Euros will realise the reality soon that Islamists want us all dead... regardless of who you vote for.

Sweden and France love to complain about U.S. policies in the War on Terror. They call us cowboys, as if getting tough with terrorists is a sin.

But check out what a Swede and a Frenchman said about the terrorists who held them captive. First, a Swedish engineer held captive by terrorists for 67 days: "I have now put some people to work to find these bastards. I invested about $50,000 so far. And we will get them one by one. These scum should be out of business."

Georges Malbrunot (search) is a French reporter who was held for four months in Iraq. Here’s what he had to say about the terrorists: "Little by little, we came to discover we were really on planet bin Laden. For them [the terrorists], France is the West, it's a global vision, it's the infidel West against the Muslim world."

Once you're actually hit by terrorists, even Europeans start sounding like cowboys. Kind of makes you wonder how Europeans would have acted if the Eiffel Tower (search) had been blown up instead of the World Trade Center (search).

Well i am from the islam but I cried for the people who were killed on 9/11
I hate Bin Laden and I would kill him myself!!!

I didn't, I said Islamists. "Islamists" means extremists of the islam faith. no more or less. I'm sorry if they are of your religion and "fight" (albeit, like cowards) pretending to represent you.. but I know of no person that mistakes Islamists (as defined) with muslims or islamics. (not saying their arent ignorant people around, but for the most part, people are rational).

I'll take your request under advisement. But so far, to every Islamic or Muslim here that I've explained the deffinition too.. has understood the difference...

thats the biggest problem in the whole EU thing... everyone is trying to base a states voting power based on military might (conduscive to economic power).... which alienate citizens of rightfully proud origins.

It would be like saying those from Alabama's votes dont count as much as those from NYC because their cost of living is less. Makes no sense.. and I congratulate those citizens standing up for themselves.

Within the EU, wealth ( unfortunatly )tends to lend weight to political prowess. Seems this is the reason Chirac and Schroder now seem to be so friendly.

As a major power france contributes 1.2BN to EU, receives 10BN in farming subsidies through the CAP. Which obviously they are not prepared to lose or renegotiate. And as a powerful ( wealthy nation ) they have more clout.

This policy, to underpin the point, happened to be drafted during the Thatcher years, when the Brits were a mere minnow ( in the wealth table ) in the european monetary pond.

Alas,It seems all europeans have to pay to keep the blessed wine farmers in production. We have to pay to facilitate the over production of the vineyards, and subsidise an industry that is now geared on global exports. ( so basically a profit making machine receives vast handouts )

Kinda makes the debt relief for africa seem like small change....

This is why it sucks... ( for want of more suitable diatribe )

ya, the whole EU thing is a mess. it seems like it is attempting to be the first Corporate Nation.. it is very... interesting (for lack of a better/stronger term) to watch it evolve.

There are some good points to it, but It is too difficult to see if those good points can outweigh the bad yet. I have 30% confidence that the citizens involved can stand for long against there govts though..even Chirac has openly stated he will make it happen (after the failed vote) at all costs and despite what his countrymen think.

Interesting to note: Schroeder lost a no confidence vote today; Chirac's citizens are going against him, Blair re-elected, Australia just as soundly re-elected their PM..etc etc etc.

Everywhere you look, the people of the world defy the media's defining them as anti American and Anti War and vote against the very people and policies the media says they adore.

It is a very amazing time in history to be alive today.

well, you have to remember why he got elected; pity.

My wife.. who voted for him.. stated (albeit, this is only one person's POV of her own that was reinfocred by other in southern france).. that he had failed to win election 5 times (or so) prior to this and this was his (as he put it) his lanst chance to win due to his age... sooo as my wife did, as did others..gave him the pity vote.

He is no friend of the french people though. They "true French" citizens (read, not the illegal/migrant population from the mid east and africa) support America (and of course the UK's) endeavor to end the tyrany of the middle east.

Im sure of course, there are descenters.. but this is one of those "for the most part" things.


Funny to note: Yesterday or the day before, a flight of French Mirage fighters from an aircraft carrier off the east American coast had to request priority landing because they lacked the fuel to make it back to their ship lol.

So once again, the USA comes to Frances aid. (I love this stuff.)
