Are the Chinese Registering .xyz?

That is the question. I tried to get my username in .xyz. It was taken... by the Chinese. I also checked cj5 and cj4. Same... taken by Chinese. Cj7 was taken by someone in India.
I guess they are moving to less desirable extensions. Is anyone else noticing this?
