The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Its clearly not based on any sales records. Its just my opinion based on namepros discussions and sales. People 1st see discussions, then go to try it, and some peoples promote it so the buyout happen faster than the normal.

What will happen if no one in the forum talk about Chinese premium letter? Only the peoples who research by their own will know it and only they will follow the trend. If 10 threads open about the premium letters 100+ members will follow the trend.

My opinion is based on Psychology :)

Thanks buddy, i understood :)

I see .co as a good second choice to .com, especially as time goes by and good .com continue to become scarcer and higher priced. The .co is one of the 'newer' extensions you actually see companies using for their website, so the traction has begun and they're already ahead of the majority of the newer extensions. It also doesn't hurt that .co is short and is the first two letters of .com, which everyone is used to.

.mobi remains to be seen.
Anyhow end 2014 there were 2 big banks, beginning a UDRP for a .mobi !!

Wasn't/Isn't there some restrictions to running a website on .mobi?

I don't think these restrictions are still counting.
On normal (so no smartphones but more little cellphones) cellphones of course the website that you make should be made a such that it's visible on a mobile phone. But the restrictions/obligations of the past are gone as far as I know. The promises that were made (on every cellphone a .mobi button, etc...) couldn't be kept, and as such hevy protest came from mobidomainers.. However very muich sytstems to make a mobilefriendly website are on the market in the meantime.
Don't know with "registry premiums" though (NB the registry premiums of dotmobi cost much the 1st year, but have regular registration like 15 usd the 2nd year. And that's very different then what we see with ntld's. Let's wait and see what the new GTLD ".mobile" will cost. In any case mobi is 2 letters less then mobile. And there are still I think 800.000 mobi's registerred. I guess (I should check this though), only .xyz does better. It's as far as I know the ONLY extention and market (mobile market) with an own FORUM.
WHAT I ALSO FIND STRANGE IS THAT THERE ARE NO IDN'S YET FOR .MOBI (apart from some chinese characters I guess, and of those I don't even know where you can register these IDN's) SOMEBODY SHOULD WARN THEM THAT THEY SHOULD FINALLY LAUNCH IDN's for an enormous amount of languages now §they exist I gues 7 years or more now, it should get time they do that). I called a year ago and they said they (now Afilias) were now busy with other extentions, but that they would do it IF THE DEMAND TO THE REGISTRY in EMAILS WOULD GET BIG for IDNS.

Totally my opinion but I just don't see .MOBI going anywhere ever again. In my mind, it's same as .arch & .onl, a clumsily abbreaviated 'word' that just looks silly. While the world going mobile argument is valid to a degree, in reality the world has already GONE mobile. Emphasizing that your site is mobile friendly was a thing 3 years ago.

I can't understand why anyone would still be invested in .Mobi. Even the best premium names are virtually worthless by this point and it will only get worse from here from anyone still holding and going long on .Mobi.

If you know any FACTS whatsoever, tell us.
If not, just say that you don't like .mobi

Looking at this again, LLL.mobi's seem to be disappearing. Obviously not as fast as other extensions, but I think before July next year, all of them will be gone, or sooner of course. Less than 20,000 combinations at $7 a pop, not even $150,000 worth for a world market. I also looked the sales, there's been demand over the years and good prices:

It seems to come in waves every 2-3 years. But what will ignite it next year is the lack of other LLL's and the demand that has been passed from other TLD's like .NET, .ORG, .BIZ, .INFO, etc.. The NNN.mobi's are all gone and a good chunk of the LLL's are also taken too.

.mobi was selling between 2006 and 2008. But it's dead. There will be no comeback. Even if the Chinese are buying .cm or .mobi these extensions are still worthless. There are few recorded .mobi sales nowadays. That's what I wanted to show.

I accept your opinion on .mobi, what are your thoughts on .info?

What's the going rate for an average LLL.info ? Low $$$ ?
There is not much money to be made. You can replace .info with .us or .biz, there are always exceptions but on average the sales are either low or infrequent.

There is not much money to be made. You can replace .info with .us or .biz, there are always exceptions but on average the sales are either low or infrequent.

See maybe it's just me because of my background in investments(stocks), but I buy domains based on percent returns, not dollar value. If I buy a domain today for $10 and sell it tomorrow for $30, it's a 200% return, not just $20. But I also work in volume, hence why I have 1,500 domains.

Getting back to what you said, for someone that bought LLL.info for $3 less than a year ago and sold it today for $100+, what's wrong with that? Nobody in this industry is going to get a domain for $10 or less and sell it for $1000+ tomorrow, takes time. I mean you can be risky and buy a XXXXX priced domain and hope to flip it for a big profit, but I don't like that method.

Would feel safer buying 100 $3-4 .info's and selling them for $20-30+ 6 months down the road then trying to buy one domain for XXXX and holding it for years, hoping to make XXXXX+.

Everyone is different and once again I thank you for your opinion.

I would focus on .io

Think about India. .in and .io (India online, information online, Input-output, etc) It's also the focus of tech.
