Approaching a possible buyer?

:hi:
Firstly, forgive my ignorance, I hope this is the right place to post this.

My question is how do you approach a buyer that may want your domain?

I'll give you my specific example.
I came across a sunglasses website called 2013sunglass.com and I wondered if there was a 2012sunglass.com which there was but they had not bought 2014sunglass.com so I went ahead and did. Both of these websites seem well maintained and managed, I even bought some glasses from there to test it's validity and the service and product was perfectly fine.

I figure theres a 90% chance that theres something i've missed that makes this not quite the opportunity I've gotten excited about. But it was only 3 bucks so I'm not too concerned about what happens.

I've held the site since just after the new year.

What should I do with it? If anything. :)

I think you stumbled upon a Domainer, who is engaged in Affiliate Marketing. It is not a true "end-user" website, per se.

It could be just a fly-by-night website.

Here 's my opinion: I think you've made 3 mistakes

1. you bought a time-sensitive domain: limited shelf life (1 year), after that the domain is no longer relevant
2. you bought a domain that has only obvious one end user
3. the other party could even claim bad faith against you, although the domain in question is clearly not court-worthy in my view

If you find a domain name that is available in 2013, you should seriously ask yourself if it's any good since nobody would pick it for $10.

Fly by night knockoff sunglasses?

They also used 2011

You might be the person that wakes them up to the fact they cant just hand reg these each year at the last moment.

They may choose a different plan

Their emails on site look cheesy
