I there should be at least 255 characters before you click submit in this forum. The reason is people are just saying: Reg fee. or: $0 I think people should have to at least explain why that name is that and such. Thats just me... but it would make things a bit easier for the person that wants to know how much their name is worth.

Anyone else?

Doesnt have to be 255 characters... i only said that just to give a number ;)

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

I think it's good idea to be more descriptive in appraisals and I think it will prevent people from just quessing for a value but to actually check some stuff about the domain.

Well people want to say how much the domain is worth.
The staff won't cheak that profile thing I did so I can't be bothered with that forum anyway.

I think it's a good idea, you could even have it as low as 10 characters just to rule out the "Reg fee" and "$0".

I think 255 characters is way too much, but maybe have like a 100 character limit, or 3 complete sentences.

I agree, a hundred characters wouldn't be too long. For instance, this post is almost a hundred character already.

This may require a hack installed for per forum post count requirements... But I do believe it would cut down on "0 imho" or "kewl domain" apprasials.

Im for it. I think it will help the people who are asking for apprisals. Does anyone know if their is already a VB hack that does this?

Not that I know of... I haven't checked out Vbulletin.org in a while though.

If you check out most of my appraisals, I already try to do not, not to the benefit of me, but the user asking for the appraisal. Its not too hard (for most of us;)) to sit down for maybe three seconds and ask ourselves - what is a good name and what is not (most of that comes natural to us domainers anyawys, now).

I think that there are always going to be people here that leave appraisals with the typical "regfee" or "$0 imho" (without the vb hack). The only problem is that we don't want users to be discouraged when appraising domain. This is one of the great things about NamePros - Free peer appraisals.

For the time being, I think there should be a small "appraisal" guide on the page while the appraiser is typing the appraisal that serves as a reminder of all the necessary parts that go into a good appraisal.

Just my thoughts, spread through my fingers.
