I absolutely agree with the idea that the sig space should be no larger than 4 lines, but why is there a limit to 500 characters? That could be only 2 lines of the sig space? Does it really matter that theres a LOT of text within 4 lines?

Maybe we can bump up the limit of 500 characters :)

Thanks

Yes, I agree. Anymore and it will just look messy.

500 characters is more than enough for any forum.

Ya, I agree that 4 lines and 500 characters is more than enough. 4 full lines in Microsoft Word is only 324 characters, so 500 for a signature should be no problem.

Well, the thing is that putting in urls takes a lot of space. There might only be 8 characters of the url, but the code takes up like 30-40 characters. Therefore, there is a limited amount of advertising space, such as in my sig. My sig is completely full, and I cannot add anything else. It only took one and a half lines, does not look messy at all, and there is no more room left.

Which is why I just recommended/suggested it. It's fine if you don't agree with me, but I'm just pointing some things out :)

Oh ya, I forgot they counted the code as part of the 500 characters. Perhapsa bit more would be good, but definitely keep the 4 line maximum.

Hence the reason I said

in the first post.

4 lines is just fine, but 500 characters isn't :) Or, perhaps make only the text of the url count, and not the code; that would work fine too :)

Any chance we can implement this idea? All I'm asking is that you don't count the code as part of the 500 characters.

My resolution is 1280 x 1024... there are four lines used now: 1st is full with links, 2nd almost half full with links, 3rd is empty, and the 4th has a font link.

Not 6 lines. I think it also has to do with the monitor size.

That is what I see on 1280x1024 and yes I do agree that this would be good.
