Watching MacWorld Keynote and Jobs unveiled the new iPhone. About the size of an iPod and is all display. OSX loaded. GSM and EDGE, Quad band. WiFi, Bluetooth. Internet in your pocket. Safari browser can display regular web pages but boy are they small. Google's Eric Schmidt plus Jerry Yang of Yahoo on stage backing this device.

Incredible gadget. This is computing and phone convergence like never seen before. Mobile internet use is going to skyrocket with this device. All good for us .mobi's IMO. Let's get busy developing more content.

$499 - 4GB
$599 - 8GB

Ships in June for US. EU late this year and asia in '08

Looks like Cingular only

More will appear on Apple.com probably within an hour.

This phone looks awesome. I was going to buy a blackjack for cingular, but I might hold off on that now.

all I can say is 599 gets me a PS3 - i will take one of those first. Iphone -super cool, yes super expesive yes, 30gb to hold all my videos, no. To me it is overpriced. My friend has a Nokia N93, he paid $700 for it, after all is said and done, he still has 2 other cameras and a seperate videocamera, even though the phone has all that crap. The only reason everyone will want one - to be the "cool" guy who has an iphone! I dont personally care. All I want is a really really small phone that plays mp3s so I dont have to have 2 different things in my pocket.

By the way cisco owns the TM and has for years, not apple, and www.iphone.com ( i think their server is swampped LOL) was in use prior to the tm.

This only is good news if the iPhone uses .mobi as their default extension!

We need providers to "GO .MOBI"! I'm still waiting on that... that will make or break .mobi

yeah, the phone shows full sites, but you have to zoon in everywhere....mobi would be more convenient...regardless, this phone is awesome and I am planning on getting it.....

....when they sell it for a reasonable price ($500??, come on apple!)

the good thing about the iphone - It could become the catalyst we need to jumpstart mobile internet bowsing. Most kids and young people will be inclined to buy the iphone - a major difference in demographics from PDA's and smartphones. If they are wildly popular, everyone will be online with them, it will spark interest in browsing, then once they realize how easy .mobi is to use - that will be the begining!

Oh and one other thing - my friends nokia n93 is so awsome- you can plug it into your laptop, and get an internet connection for your laptop anywhere in the world. If the iphone can do that Im sold.

That's fine with me. Simply means many millions of people with a phone that is VERY internet capable and people will do just that....visit my .mobi sites!

This is a huge boost for mobile internet use. I am happy to have potential customers visiting my .mobi sites that spent $500 for a phone and a premium in their phone plan for the privilege. More disposable income means they might just dispose of some in my direction. :)

By the way cingular - sucks. They better make a universal version or they will shoot themselves in the foot.
