AOL Corp has a domain I want to buy

Hey everyone,

So, I'm interested in purchasing a domain name and the whois shows AOL as the owner.
The domain was used by a startup before being acquired by AOL who are now currently not putting it to use and are just letting it sit idle.

Has anyone tried to buy a domain name from a corporate before?
I'd like some tips on how to negotiate and also how to get in touch with a decision maker.

I haven't attempted to purchase a domain from AOL specifically, but in my experience if you're trying to buy a domain from a corporation close to their size I wouldn't expect much of a reaction unless you're prepared to pay in at least the 5 figure range.

Be prepared to pay big chunk of money if you want to deal with AOL. Just give a try and see you get away with a nice deal... you never know. all the best anyway

I think they own 25,000 domains, unless you got 6-7 figures they are not going to waste their time.

Note, this is not a .com domain. It is a cctld and the keyword is not a premium.
I don't think i'd be willing to drop 5, 6 or 7 figures for this domain name.
Anyway, no harm in trying and see how far I can reach.

Any tips on reaching a decision maker?
Should I email the senior management or the IT dept or what?
