Anyone still use Network Solutions as there registra?

i started buying, and selling back in the mid 90s.

I was just thinking about this the other day, when i got my renew bill for several names i have now. and how back then they were $35yr per name (with a 2yr min).

Maybe some huge companies in which a few $35 renewals a year is a drop in the bucket, but anyone in the domaining trade using them would immediately be branded a naive newbie, or someone with more dollars than sense. Same thing with register.com

A client still has one there. He is so inept with email and their transfer process is so obfuscated, it's cheaper to just keep paying the $35 than to try and get it moved. Maybe this year...

I personally find it easier to transfer out from them unlike before. In fact, I'm
going to move my one last domain name away a month before expiration.

It's just a matter of knowing the transfer policies and procedures, planning for
it, and sticking to it when the time comes. Good luck.

Not really $35...

If you phone and say you need to transfer out your domains, whammo the rate goes down to $7-8 bucks. I got transferred over to a customer retention person who matched godaddy pricing. They know what other companies charge so they'll match it once you call. Make sure you know exactly what other companies are charging when you call.

I have many domains there. Since I focus more on end users than resellers, end users seem to be more comfortable with domains there - especially larger companies. I find it also seems to help bump selling prices.

Pricing there is negotiable, like most places ;)

I have about a dozen oldies left at NetSol but I have now started to transfer every one out before the renewal comes up, why pay $35 each when you can pay $6.99 each ?

I don't think thier service warrants the extra charge and they also charge an extra $8 (approx) for privacy protection that still shows your name !! Duuuur

I have been transferring them out to Answerable.com where privacy actually works and is FREE !

You don't need to phone NetSol to transfer out.
