Can anyone confirm that kadopapier means (gift)wrapping paper in Dutch? None of the online translators know this word but a Google search brings up websites that sell wrapping paper.

I'm asking because I picked up kadopapier.com at snapnames and was wondering if I guessed the meaning right.

Thank you!

'kadopapier' means giftwrapping in Dutch, although I think 'cadeaupapier' is a more common way to spell it.

leonardo is right, although kado is also used frequently.

trends.google.com has this to say about kado vs. cadeau:

Was it worth the $9? I guess that remains to be seen....

I'm from Holland (live in Kenya now) and kado is definately much more used than cadeau.

Cadeau is the correct original spelling, that probably explains the google results, but there is hardly anyone who writes down or types in cadeau, maybe some "older" people do so, but say at least 80% or more type and spell kado.

Yes, it's worth the $9 :)

Good luck with this name!!

Thank you guys! Reps added!

But now I have one more question. In the Netherlands is .nl more popular than .com?

I'm originally from Hungary and .hu is used a lot more for local stuff than .com.

Thanks for the rep :)

In Holland .nl is more used than .com, although they are both used frequently. Strangely enough you also see .tv more and more in Holland, especially with ads on tv. Do you see .tv in Hungary or only .hu and .com?

I have been living in the US for 6 years, but from what I can see .hu is the most used in Hungary. I have not seen any Hungarian .tv sites yet.

Actually .hu is so strong that some Hungarian magazines let the .com extension drop just recently.

I would have picked them up at snapnames if it hadn't been for the trademark issue.
