Penguins vs Sabres New Years Day - first professional game outside! Ralph Wilson Stadium

I'd love to take in new years in NY and see my fav team outdoors. If you are from NY area and wouldn't mind a Canadian house guest for a few days let me know!

First pro game outside in Buffalo but not in the NHL.

Montreal at Edmonton in 2003...and it was bitterly cold.

If JMF can play in goal like he was drafted for - the Pens could be the team to beat out of that side. The Sabres have been gutted and shouldn't be the same team this year.

I'd cheer for Vancouver but they didn't do anything really to improve their team- they will try to ride Luongo into the playoffs again only to have problems scoring again.

My darkhorse picks - LA and Montreal.

I'm not from NY, but I'm sure many people will be heading down to Buffalo from the Toronto area to catch the game. Lets hope they can sell out all 73K seats ... that would be awesome!
