Hi all,

In remembrance for this day, and the events that took place 4 years and 5 hours ago, here's my reflections after having visited NYC this summer, and the ground zero site. (Please click image links, as I apparently can't add images to my posts in this board.)

As our coach bus approached the block of the former WTC, the amount of cars and yellow taxis lessened. The instructer stood up at the front and warned us to stay with a group, after all, it WAS New York City.

I stepped outside and instantly - from the noise and commotion at Battery Park, the surprisingly quiet and whisper tone of voices in this 1 special block in the middle of downtown Matthattan.

I was impressed with the reverence of the people and even traffic in the area.

As I walked up to the metal fence to look through it, I saw the nearly empty space where once were 2 grand and glorious towers stood.

The following is a view a bit further away when I should have saw two glorius towers... there is nothing:

It was then when I heard a siren in the distance. Then I could've sworn I heard people yelling, shouting, or screaming in fear... chills ran up my spine and I KNEW that this site had a particular spirit of heroism about it ... when a lone tear ran down my cheek.

The names of the victims ran across plaques on the fence. There were so many...

The plaque to the right of these names was informational:

Halfway around the block, there was a memorial steel crossing standing. They are the original beems, and now a very famous landmark.

It is a very spiritual place, a place of heroism vs. terrorism. A place to remember. An EVENT to remember.

The headline on our front page read something similar to the NY Times:

I still have it in a drawer somewhere. :hehe:

God Bless America.

Thanks for the pics. I'm from Arizona, so when I moved to Upstate NY, I made my way down to the city to see this for myself. Our cab driver was shady though, and dropped us off on the wrong side. It was raining bad, so we ended up just having to hail another cab to get out of there. This is actually the first time I've ever looked at pictures of this.

I tried adding rep, but it looks like I've already done that for you, so I guess a thank you will suffice for now.

Have a good one,
Jorge
