Anyone explain how this happened

hand registered a LLLL couple of weeks ago, out of curiosity checked the previous whois and said it wasn't supposed to be expired yet, but managed to register it anyways. Anyone explain how that happened?

That lloks like it was from the drop process. If you check the whois of a name in the drop process you will see the exp date listed a year from its expiration date.

makes sense. think my mistake was reading the dates wrong, thought it was june instead of february

But on the bright side, it looks like you rescued a name from the clutches of 1 and 1.
