Anyone ever had someone else SPOOFing your email address?

i keep having a problem with someone SPOOFing my email address as there return email address, when they send out spam emails.

folks keep replying saying "REMOVE" ect..


anyone else have this problem before?

Yes had this many times myself as well. Usually at first you get loads of mail to start off with then it starts to curtail.

Not really much you can do about it except for changing your email address.

Yes, it's a pain in the &@$ but there is basically nothing you can do. It usually takes about two weeks for the emails to stop.

I don't think anyone would ban you but if can its better change the address. keep one email address only for these.

ya happened and now it has stopped. at first i thought that my email was hacked but then i realised that it was some good spoofing only

If someone is doing this you can do a couple things.

1. Ask your host to install SPF records in there DNS zones on the server for your domains.
2. If using cpanel or plesk, make sure you are not using a catch all email address as this just leaves you wide open to this.
3. Ask your host to install Helo filtering in the mail server to help further prevent faked headers and return address.
