There are still a couple good ones out there that are worth registering.

Im pretty convinced that when the 3d home cinemas are launched, this will get really big.
The technology and shows/events are full of it.

I got to the party two weeks too late,if I had got there I would have some very tasty names indeed.

So for now I am leaving it, I see little point in running around trying to hoover up crumbs that might fall and am instead looking at the future.

Why 3D Domains will be profitable

The reason 3d.coms will be a huge is simple The new 3d TVs being introduced are Internet ready and consumers will be able to watch 3d websites as if they are tv channels.
I own 105 3d.coms and see no reason why these will not be used.

I will say I think the best buys are straight.coms with no / or - in the names
also buying the domain with 3d first may not be the best way
go to google and put in 3d its milions put in boat3d and its thousands
3d and the name is not always the best buy.

    my best domain

    wheels3d.com and internettv3d.com
    Good luck

Some are predictive; some based on search, and a few brandables that I thought sounded good when saying them out-loud. Overall, I think it's a fair pick-up of 3d reg fee domains:

I see. buying a 3D domain is somewhat like cyber squatting then. Why dont you use tools like Google Keyword tool or Google Trends to check out which keywords are potential hot favourites for 3d domain names?

    Ummmm, NOOOOOOOOOO IT ISN'T!!!

Though it is possible that some 3d domains might be cybersquatting if they contain TM's.

    Absolutely not!

In addition to the fact that my registrations are generic, descriptive keyword based domain names that do not infringe on the intellectual property rights of third parties, every name listed in my post will be held & developed by my company. None are parked. None will be "flipped" nor offered for sale.

There are no 3D trademarked names
I can't imagine any company trade marking a dimension that did not even exsist until this year.
Do not think because you have a company name with 3d.com that it is trademarked
Just do not put up a website using it to compete with the company.
If they call to say they own it say its not for sale and they will make you sell it to them.
    I have www.guess3d.com and www.gap3d.com and www.hooters3d.com
As long as I do not put up a website for jeans clothes and a resturant there is nothing they can do..

So what do you plan to do with such stellar domains?

Try to sell them to the companies in question or park them?

I've never ever had the thought of registering a 3D domain related name until now. I can certainly see some potential for them in the future though.

I would encourage you to read or reread this post.

Especially the paragraph dealing with, "Finally, despite what else you may have heard..." dealing with state of mind excerpted here:

"As if that's not confusing enough, sometimes it has to do with state of mind which can be inferred from the post-registration actions taken by a domain owner. If you wake up one morning to discover that some way, some how, the domain name Sting.com was deleted only moments before (and, of course, you grab it for less than the price of a carton of smokes) and immediately post to this thread about the "freaking" incredible sum of money you're going to make selling it to the rock star who had the poor fortune of having let it lapse, then you will be in for a rude awakening when you are dragged before a UDRP panel that, without hesitaion, returns the name to it's previous owner. Had you only been a genuine, aspiring entomologist with a penchant (and website plan) for bee allergies, life might have been so much different!"

Bottomline: Piggybacking for profit on the investment, effort and goodwill of a third party by registering a domain name that incorporates a protected mark may put you and your ability to hold the name at significant risk.
